Ah yes...I totally appreciate having Holiday and Tate being out there. Watch the whole damn game. Nothing was stopping the Warriors from scoring when Reed was out, but the offense sure did suck without him out there.
The reason GS made a run was that Reed wasn't out there, sure they can make a run, but with Reed the Rockets can answer that run, with Tate and Holiday they can't that is why Ime is an idiot as a coach. DD

We lost that big lead in the 4th quarter with Reed on the bench. That's probably Reed's defensive shortcoming with him on the bench not clapping to encourage his teammates to play harder. LOL.
This is exactly the answer. We don’t play good defense as a team. KD, bad. Şengün, bad. Tari, mental lapses. But the offense is AWFUL when Reed’s not out there.
...on offense yes. Even him being out there just spaces the floor out to a point where Dickerson can get a wide open three and no one knows why. At the end though, Ime wasn't going to risk him (and lets be fair, it really is Katie/Sengun/Reed trio) getting skinned alive by the Warriors crazy screens. Like I said, I'm cool with him being out there but we will probably lose if he is. He's just not a strong enough ball handler yet and gets targeted like crazy on defense which is more pronounced because Sengun and Katie are also bad defenders. Next year will be a different story especially if he can talk to Lebron about getting on his HGH regimen.
He needs to be in there on both sides of the ball. Putting in guys who offer nothing on offense and are worse defensively is only something Ime is dumb enough to think is the right decision. If they actually had some killer defenders to go to, that would be one thing, but taking out your offense just to put in Aaron ****ing Holiday is about as dumb as it gets. There's a reason the Rockets got absolutely killed every time Reed wasn't on the court.
Rockets have a myriad of problems on defense and Reed is definitely one of them. Not sure he's providing enough on offense to make up for the defensive atrocity that is the Reed-Dickerson-Sengun trio. I mean if you told me "hey lets get rid of Katie and Sengun and replace them with players that actually complement Reed and Amen" sign me the **** up. Sengun can stay if he works on his 3 and plays D but bro hasn't given a **** on defense for like 2 months (though he's picking up last couple of games and we suddenly look competent again). I ain't worried about Reed. I'm one of his biggest stans and jfc have I had to go to bat for dude in this very thread (feel like most of my ignore list came from Jalen stans who hate him). I'm convinced that we have the backcourt of the future and with Jabari seemingly getting more confident it's all gravy. Reed isn't better on D than Holiday though. Not yet. He probably will be next year though.
The issue is that Ime's dumb ass puts guys who are even worse defensively out there who also provide nothing on offense. If you look at the team's net rating when Reed was out there last night, they were killing the Warriors....it's how they kept getting leads when Reed was on the court. Now look at the net ratings of the guys Ime put out there to piss away the lead. Ime simply has no clue what is happening on the court, his conception of what is happening is what I'd expect from a casual who relies entirely on eye test and vibes. The idea that guys like Holiday or Tate are better defenders than Reed is faith based, not anything based in reality.
I can agree that if you're going to go to your "defensive stalwarts" then they better ****ing defend. Which they didnt. I understood the logic but the execution wasnt there and if it isnt then theres no reason to take Reed out.
