Brought the Maxtor 160gb hard drive at 3 am friday. It's 130-40 coupon-25 instant saving-35 easy rebate=40+5 tax The total is 45 bucks. I guess it's not the greatest deal, but it's not bad either.
I just got back from Fry's, mad crazyness there. I got there at around 530am and the line was all the way where KMart's doors were. To put in perspective, the line was almost all the way to West Road and I would estimate about 300-500 people in front of me. What I scored: $15 after rebate DVD player $5 Media reader $57 GBA SP + 2 games $47 HP 3.1 MP camera I first just got the DVD player, but when i was in line, i was able to get the rest, i guess people changed their minds on the way to the counter.
My dad and I were at Fry's as well, but he got tired after 30 min and so we left. I wish I actually had money to spend. Maybe I should get one of those...jobs?
Went to Best Buy. Got a 160 GB HDD for 29.99 after rebate instead. Also bought 50 8x DVD+R's for 2.99 after rebate. Hell of long lines, but at least people were pushing and shoving. There were TV crews recording people coming in and buying stuff. I overheard the manager in an interview say that this year had a lot more people than less year. So from the looks of it, Buy Nothing Day didn't make a dent on Black Friday.
talk about irony. i woke up at 4:30 am like i do everyday to go work out at the gym. sadly the gym was closed till 7am so I had a few hours to spare. so i went down to target and waited in line with the other freaks and got a bunch of electronics on the chizzeap. Plus i got interviewed by 740 KTRH and was put on the air b/c I told them my story about how I laughed at all my friends for being crazy for doing this and ultimately ending up down with the masses.
I saw that ad for Fry's and I thought about going up there, but I figured they'd be sold out by the time I got there.
Amen, brother! Fighting hordes of desperate and pissed-off shoppers for the newest gadgets we're told to buy for a celebration that has nothing to do with consumerism? Pass. I'm spending the day with my wife, enjoying the pleasant weather and sipping hot cocoa. I hope everybody has a relaxing day with their loved ones!
did some mild spending today buy 1 pack of 50 cd-r's (office depot brand, although not a bad one) and get 2 50 packs of the same free damn good deal to get 150 cd-r's for $19.97
Picked up this little number at Wally World (Last one they had) http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=3132182 Now I'm dancing around with it like those Ipod idiots.
