and it's not good...I don't know if it was my move to Tennessee, the "chemistry" dis-manteling of the team, or the fact it's harder to watch them now, but for some reason I don't feel excitement about the Rockets that I had felt for the last decade or so... Perhaps, I'm dealing with other events and my time for absorbing the love of the Rockets isn't there like before? When T-mac came to Houston, I absolutely loved it during the off-season, now I almost feel indifferent, and I hate that reserved feeling... Please help me before I venture further to the dark side and become Darth Vader or something!... anyone else?
That feeling is only natural considering how the Rockets are playing. JVG's teams are always hard to watch, but I can't help but feel optimistic regarding our the fortunes of our beloved Rockets.
I think its just a case of setting expectations too high too soon. I was very very excited about the T-mac trade and I will admit I thought we'd be better than we are now, but I'm seeing improvement every game! If we can continue to improve then there shouldn't be anything to worry about, it's a long season and what's even better than that is our two superstars have a lot left in the tank to bring in multiple championships down the road. I know everyone want to win NOW but I think we have the foundations to be much more successful than the foundation of the past 5 years. Let's just look for improvements, indiviually, as a team, and coaching-wise. If we look at it that way I think we will enjoy this season much more. The wins will start rolling in, believe me. T-mac will not let this team stay mediocre, I can just feel it.
It's the move to Tennesse. That'll do it to you. Next thing you know, you'll start losing your sex drive. My prescription for you: 1) don't watch the games for 2 weeks. See if you miss it. 2) get bobble head of each rockets player, microwave them 1 at a time. Write down the names of the players you enjoyed nuking, come back here and start multiple threads about trading that player for Lebron. 3) same as two, but use Smeagle action figure for JVG. If you enjoyed nuking him, come back and start threads about firing JVG. 4) just think, at least you are not in Utah, or West Virginia. 5) be a Yao-hater for a week. They all seem to be living in la-la land. la-la land is a much better place to be than Tennesse
I love basketball but I think the season starts WAY too early. I'm still in my football state of mind. They should start in January, not November. Also, as mentioned before, JVG's teams are never exciting to watch unless they're winning consistently which we're not doing yet. Yet. Funny, I always look forward to watching road games more than home games. The Houston crowd is always so dead in the TC unless the game really means something. I tend to do more switching back and forth during home games but I pretty much watch road games from start to finish. They always seem more exciting. But yeah, I kind of see where you're coming from. It's hard to get into basketball during the meat of the football season. Not to mention only a month after baseball season. I'm going to my first game of the year on Saturday against the nuggets. Maybe that will get me going.
