I recently went to Wal-Mart to have some pictures off my digital camera printed. The size of the pictures was 4x6. After getting the pictures they looked very slightly blurry. My camera is a 3.2 megapixel camera. Now I know that is is not good for taking photos, let's say 8x10 but I thought 4x6s would print beautifully. Is there anything that I can do to make the pictures come out clearer?

3.2 should have been plenty enough for a good 4x6 print.

What did they look like on your lcd? What type of camera did you use?

They should be fine if its sharp on your PC. My camera has taken a few blurry shots but admit that my camera could be better :)

If you want to print cheap prints from digicams, check out Sam's Club if you have a membership, its like 16 cents a print.

Please, before Lil Pun answers...let me give this valuable piece of information:

    2. Why are my images blurry when viewed on the LCD screen?
Please peel off the protective film on the LCD.

If you want to print 4x6, 2.1 megapixel would be good enough. 3.2 is good enough for half a page. I don't think you had it on the highest setting. On your highest setting, it should be 2048x1536. You'll be fine even on 1600x1200. Also make sure you are on the highest quality level. If you do all that, then you should be able to print great looking pictures.

Thanks guys, I set the picture settings on super fine instead of fine and 1600x1200 instead of 600x800. My camera only holds about 20 pictures now instead of 75 but I'll take some and print them out to see what they look like now.

the image size is very important.

1600x1200 should take good photo prints.

Again, what type of camera do you have? (Sony, Canon...?)

    Thanks.

The reason I was asking is some Canon cameras tend to shoot a little soft and images need to be sharpened using Photoshop or similar programs. I had a Canon G2 that drove me nuts before I figured that out.

I'm thinking that you have a 16 or 32 mb memory stick. You should get at least a 128 mb one. If you go on pricegrabber.com, you could get some pretty good deals.

i used to get that problem when i use the auto shoot mode because i probably didnt hold the camera still enough, so now i just use the mode that takes action pictures. the one that allows you to take sharp pictures of moving objects.
