According to The Sporting News' Best Sports Cities. St. Louis doesn't even have a basketball team. http://www.thesportingnews.com/sportscities2000/ Houston came in # 18. At least we are in the top 20. ------------------ "Oh, God, Johnny, don't point that gun at me There's so many ways our lives have changed But please, I beg, don't do this to me" - New Order
Houston sucks as a sports city. And I live in Houston. The fans are the most fair-weatherd. No football and no hockey either. Hopefully nothing happens to the Rockets. ------------------ Fun Police Says: 1. Posting in stupid threads is not FUN! 2. Spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure are not FUN! 3. As a note -- which should make Houstonians feel better. This has absolutely nothing to do with fans, facilities, city support, revenue, public support, playoffs / championships or even budget issues. The ranking is based purely on a mathmatical formula which divides the win/loss record by the number of professional sporting teams. It's a mathmatical formula based on who had the best record per professional team. Since the Rams, Cardinals, and Blues all had a great year, they came out on top. The Rockets had a bad year, and even though the Astros had a good one it pulled us down some. BTY -- anlthough according to the survey, home town pride wasn't involved , the Sporting news is based in St. Louis. ------------------ Stay Cool...
