Was anyone at the Texans game sunday? The whole stadium was chanting "ONE MORE YEAR" on 2 seperate occasions. First when Granato introduced him, then when he was walking off the field.

"ONE MORE YEAR! ONE MORE YEAR! ONE MORE YEAR! ONE MORE YEAR! ONE MORE YEAR!"

Yep; i was one of them. I cheered louder and applauded more for Roger Clemens then i did at any other point of the night. Definitely was cool hearing over 70,000 fans chanting One More Year!

If Willie Tavarez has batted second for all of August and Sept...you would have seen the difference.

Well; taking a look at the september stats

    .258 average, 2 HR, 7 RBI's

Jeff Kent, Jeff Bagwell, Lance Berkman led the way in September. Beltran more than made up for it in the playoffs.

He was the difference between being one game away from the World Series and another first round loser. He was a madman in the playoffs. I think the Astros and Roger need him.

    i don't disagree with that!! he's awesome!!!

my point is one player doesn't make the difference between you being .500 or not....not in baseball.

Carlos Beltran was the difference between this team making the playoffs and being a huge disappointment. He not only sured up the defense, he added speed to the line-up. If Biggio is still playing Center, and the line-up's the same, no way they go on that huge run. No way.

That being said, they shouldn't back up the Brink's truck for him.

Actually, I'm sure baseball fans in SF would disagree with you. :)

I don't think Beltran is worth 12 games(#of games over .500 we were last year) more than an average CF. But he just might come close over a combo of Biggio/Taveras/Lane.

you're right...if there's any player who's been that in my lifetime, it's Barry Bonds. but i can't put anyone else in the league even close to him.
