I'm a leach when it comes to sucking up NBA related stories but...enough is enough. Jerry West leaving the Lakers due to stress is all over the place. This guy isn't even a player and it's like a Clinton-Lewinsky scandal...it's everywhere. So, Faker fans may care about West but....please cut the rest of us NBA fans a break with this garbage already. I could care less. I think it is news if your in California but they are analyzing this guy's motives for leaving to death. He wants to leave....one story...and that should be it. Yet, there is one article after another such as: 1.) West to leave Lakers. 2.) West to leave due to stress. 3.) West is serious this time. 4.) No, he really is serious. 5.) What...you don't believe me? 6.) Spincter says what? Okay, maybe the guy was good at what he did for the Fakers. But, it's over now. Get over it. Let the guy leave without a media uprising. After all, he has had enough stress in his life. On another Faker story, what do you'll think of Gill taking a huge pay cut to play for the Fakers. Why doesn't every player who wants to win a championship go sign with the Lakers for peanuts. Then, the NBA will be Faker lopsided and noone else will have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Portland would have had a shot but PipSqueak blew those chances already. I guess we can't complain because CB took a major pay cut to play for us but, then again, we didn't win the championship the prior season. THIS KIND OF STUFF SHOULD BE ILLEGAL IN THE NBA. They were talking about it on the Papa Joe show. I love it when people call in to talk shows and say how today's game sucks because people don't even know how to shoot a 15-foot set shot, all they do is dunk blah, blah, blah. Then a guy calls in b****ing about the same thing and states that he doubts that today's fans don't even know that the sillouhette (sp?) on the NBA logo is that of Jerry West shooting a jumpshot. West was good in trading for Kobe, getting Shaq, etc. But he is the one that traded away Eddie Jones. Yeah he was good, but I agree with Surfer boy, WHO CARES! ------------------ Fun Police Says: 1.
