Evil Dead was a tremendously funny horror movie. As are Evil Dead 2 (essentially a remake of the original ) and Army of Darkness. The Big Lebowski is also one of my favorite movies. ------------------
I don't know how many people saw it, but I enjoyed American Psycho. It's about one derranged yuppie in the 80s whose hold on reality is twisted. He seems to get away with everything, and is obssessed with the weirdest things. For example, he really becomes homicidal when he finds someone with a better business card than him. He seduces women talking about the meaning behind Phil Collins music. But the image I can't get out of my head is when the yuppie guy is chasing some prostitute and he flings a chainsaw right through her torso. ------------------ I am so exasperated that I could expectorate.
Ouch, I bet that hurt ------------------ "Your not a real member of CC.net unless you have 1000 posts"
Boyz N Da Hood, City Slickers, and Dogma were all great movies. One great movie that didn't get much attention was Don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. If you haven't seen it, you need to rent it, it's definitely worth it. ------------------
Critters The Uninvited Near Dark ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS
Another one is Gattacca. It got absolutely zero hype, and turned out to be a really good film. ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... Next year
I forgot about Welcome to Woop Woop (from the land of the Smegster). Hilarious. ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning? - Dubyah in Florence, SC. 01/11/2000
About American Psycho, there's a reason why he gets away w/ the murders, but I'd rather not spoil it for those who wish to see it. There was a campus screening at my school for the movie a couple weeks b4 it was actually released, and I along w/ a bunch of others came out going 'what tha..??' It had some nice elements, but overall I found it weird, kinda like Being John Malkovich, I guess.. ------------------
ishtar..waterworld..the last action hero..leonard part 6.. those are my favs ------------------ i am rather like a mosquito in a nudist camp..i know what i ought to do but i don't know where to begin...
Ishtar was funny despite the bad hype about its budget. I saw it with like three people in the theatre, but the blind camel, that was funny as crap. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
High Fidelity Miller's Crossing (great Coen Brother's flick) High Fidelity The Big Kahuna High Fidelity The Killing (Pulp Fiction of the 50s, directed by Kubrick) Drop Dead Gorgeous High Fidelity The Player (Robert Altman at his best) Grosse Pointe Blank High Fidelity I agree that Dogma and Being John Malkovich were two great movies last year. ------------------ Going for the Rolls Royce! visit www.swirve.com
"Fear of a Black Hat" was awesome, AS. That movie kicked CB4's ass and I'm a huge Chris Rock fan. Another excellent spoof is a movie called "Meet the Feebles". This movie is sick in a very cool way. It's like the Muppet Show except all of the muppets are really ****ed up. Imagine Miss Piggy as a sex addict or Gonzo as a heroin junkie..... ------------------ RocketFuel is taking the summer off!
Rocketman95: Your post left this kind of unclear, but, did you like High Fidelity? ------------------
