Looks like they can use some help. Maybe we can get Artest for Juwan Howard and a first rounder. Artest would look good at small forward. He addresses the lack of a passionate tough guy on the team.

Artest should be chastened after the suspension, like Sprewell was and and his value will never be lower.

Alternatively maybe we can trade for their lottery pick next year.

yes. let's trade a good player for someone who:
    a) we have no chance of trading for
    b) will not play for another year

    great idea, bro!

btw, pacers won't have a lottery pick, despite what you think they will make the playoffs, most likely somewhere between 6-8.

Houston trades: SG Bostjan Nachbar (4.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 16.7 minutes)
PF Juwan Howard (8.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 0.6 apg in 20.6 minutes)
Houston receives: PG Jamaal Tinsley (9.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 8.3 apg in 35.4 minutes)
Jeff Foster (No games yet played in 2004/05)
Change in team outlook: -2.6 ppg, -2.1 rpg, and +7.0 apg.

Indiana trades: PG Jamaal Tinsley (9.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 8.3 apg in 35.4 minutes)
Jeff Foster (No games yet played in 2004/05)
Indiana receives: SG Bostjan Nachbar (4.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 0.7 apg in 16.7 minutes)
PF Juwan Howard (8.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 0.6 apg in 20.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.6 ppg, +2.1 rpg, and -7.0 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Houston and Indiana being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Indiana had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

You are really the Rox pimp. ;) Two of our subs for two of their starters (Foster was last season). Tinsley is doing really well now.

Screw that punk ass Artest, I dont want that cancer on our team. The man is wacko and hes proven it time and time again. This guy is just bad news. The only way I would trade for this guy is to get him and wait for next season to start so then I could trade his punk ass to someone else for a good PG.

Artest has always been a disaster waiting to happen...since his Chicago days. In a sense Ron-Ron is not like anyone ever in this league...not Dennis Rodman, not Rasheed Wallace, no one. The guy is just plainly crazy. He's got a psychological problem that I'm afraid will never be fixed.

The only problem is that he will average less than 10 games each season and makes the Rockets the team with the worst reputation in the league.

Maybe his outburst will drag TMac and Yao in causing the latter two to be suspended for 50 games/season.

I would rather not win any championships if it means that I have to have psychos on my team.

    Whatever dude!

Vernon was the man. He didnt hurt any random people like Ron Artest.
That dude was a professional on the court. No flagrant fouls on Vernon.

If you replaced Vernon with Artest:

    Artest would have choked Hornachek
20 flagrants against Ewing and John Starks
Artest would have slammed Danny Ainge

Artest is the crazy one. Vernon was just OG!

Whatever, Artest does have a career in Hollywood. He can star in those creepy horror movie remakes and I think that he would not mind choking a couple of chicks for real, getting him a ton of exposure and a death penalty.

    Willis,
I posted something on the 'where's gaines?' thread for you.

Don't start up this Dream thing. Dream didnt win anything without a great support cast ie.. TEAM.

Vernon was a great team player and you know it!

vernon was a horrible team player - he shot when he was hot and he shot when he was cold.

when Clyde came to town he withdrew from the team ... and depite the fact that he was on the playoff roster, he was excused from the team - that move, combined with Carl Herrea's arm falling off, left us with a 10 man team with Pete Chilli-cutt and Chucky Brown on the bench !

he was 'mad max' so of course he was a loose cannon. but he wasn't a horrible team player. he played great D and didn't have a problem giving the ball up to Dream.

Max was great until he imploded. He was a bargain. We were lucky to get him for nothing - we took a calculated risk. We had nothing to trade - San Antonio just gave him up for cash.

Max earned his contracts and was a big part of the rise to contender status and the first champ. Just because he stained that accomplishment with a major screwup doesn't mean he wasn't a net positive.

You moralists are so boring. You have to live life the way it is, not the way you want it to be. Do you think girls like nice boys? Do girls always tell you, "I just need my space ?" "It's not you, it's me?"

This team really needs a force like Artest, and this would be the best time to get him. Our superstars are both soft finesse guys. We need some grit. Artest has mad talent and is coachable, unlike say, Ricky Davis or - say, Jim Jackson in his me-first era with Atlanta. I think Pat Riley tagged him with that. If you look at the history of these things, you'll see that this will all shake out eventually and Artest will have the chance to re-make himself quietly effective with another team. He'll never get a fair shake in Indy again, but somewhere else he'll get another start. That's the way things really work, like it or not.

All he has to do is kiss some babies and donate a bunch of cash to a kid shelter, maybe work with battered wives. He needs to keep his cool and send Christmas cards to the officials. Presto...the "new" Ron-Ron is the feel-good story of 2006. "Age brings maturity" says Ron Artest, shown here at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the "We Good Now" at-risk youth charity he shares with Rasheed Wallace and Latrell Spreewell.

Seriously, if Artest has a good agent, he'll try to look after the kid. He really needs someone to give him direction, sometimes. He needs a Leigh Steinbrenner.

Im just happy Vernon is #1 on the crazy NBA guy who punches fans list anymore!

Artest reminds me of Rodman, he was a crazy off court, but on court he plays hard.

cause like Rasheed once said we really need "BOTH TEAMS PLAYED HARD"
