Got out of my morning class at around 10. I pulled into the neighborhood, got 2 blocks from my house before seeing the entire main street, along with my block completely flooded. I spent at least an hour just sitting and waiting for it to drain. Pain in the ass
I wish I had some shoes other than my birkenstocks's here at school. My feet are totally stained brown from the leather and me having to walk through inches of water to get to my classes today...
Saturday night sucked, it was raining hard and we were like ok, no prob, an hour later my son says he wants to peek outside, and he says "Wow, there is alot of water out there." We were thinking of puddles in the yard, but it turned our front and back yard had a foot and a half of water. The house is on pier and beam (sp?) so all we had was the water in the garage, so many other people whose houses wern't built up had it all in their house.
yeah i'm pretty sure all the water on the planet has fallen on Texas the last 2 weeks. in austin it just has not stopped raining. and it seems to save the hardest downpours for when i'm driving to or from school. the kind of rain where you can barely see out the windshield with the wipers going full speed. i just love cruising down the freeway at 40 and hoping no one else does anything stupid to get me in a wreck. i'm going home for thanksgiving tomorrow and i'm sure i'll get to drive in rain then, too. what fun. and the wetness outside just makes everything so lovely. i like overcast weather, i hate rain.
yeah that's what i just saw on weather.com. dammit. i like cruising at 80+ (though nothing crazy, damn cops) down 290 but now that won't be happening.
Let's see, right now where I am it's 31 degrees and insanely windy...you Texas people should be happy!
i guess i'm in the minority here, but i love rainy weather. the thing that's got me down right now is how damn hot it is. i thought Jeff was on here not too long ago saying this was going to be a colder than average winter. it still just feels hot and sticky to me
thats what i heard about this winter. it is suppose to be colder. when they have a mild summer, it usually indicated a cold winter. It happens every 12 years?
It can rain, but I wish it would get over with already. None of this drip, drip, drip. This is why I don't live in the Pacific Northwest. Both of the last two weekends, we've had something like three straight days of mist and drip. You can't do anything outside that way. It actually seems clear enough tonight, though (I'm west of most of you).
This ain't a "drip, drip, drip" at my house in Fort Bend. It's pouring non-stop. Another cell is making it's way through right now.
