Roger Clemens was on the sideline and talked with Suzy Kohlber(sp) and it sounded like he is interested in coming back by what he said.

He said he had to talk to his family and then would talk with the Astros.

I heard this also. It sounded very good for the Astros.

I think he's going to sit back and wait to see where Beltran ends up. If we can keep him, Roger comes back.

Man, today I watched al the highlights from the 3 home games against the Cardinals.

It got me so excited for next season. Suddenly Baseball has become more of a passion for me.

I'll wait until he signs on the dotted line. He still has his family and his mom to worry about. Who knows what might happen in the next 5-6 months.

Roger Clemens was at my school and I stood next to him. His sons, Koby and Kory, go to my school so he attended our pep rally since this is the farthest our football team has gotten in the playoffs. (An All-White team) Anyways, he gave a prep talk to our football team and afterwards, everyone was chanting "One more year."

What is it, a 5-year wait for the HOF? So he's trying to figure out whether or not she's going to die in 6 OR 7 years?

Yeah. I was about to ask why it mattered what color the team was.

Agreed... I've found that my die-hard interests in the various Houston sports teams (ie - live and die with every win/ or loss) have run in cycles.

    88-94: Moon-era Oilers

    92-00: Hakeem-era Rockets

    00- present: Houston Astros

    Possible future outlook:
    1. Texans will eventually capture my heart, but right now I don't expect them to win when the matchup doesn't favor them... I'm happy when they win, but I'm not depressed when they lose like the old Oilers days.

    2. The Rockets will once again dominate Houston sports... when they either win a division banner, or advance in a playoff series. I still care deeply whether or not they win/lose, but like most of America... the NBA is running third in my interest in the pro sports leagues.

    3. The Astros probably bought my heart for at least the next 2 years... but regardless, this past year alone was enough to make me a baseball lifer. I now love even the most boring nuances of the game... and I couldn't have been more on the opposite spectrum around 94, 95 (baseball strike, baseball is a boring game, 10,000 fans at the dome, basketball was so much more exciting, a dream shake was much more fun to watch than a 6-4-3 DP).
MMP and goin to school in St. Louis probably had a lot more to do with this than I think... there's just nothing like watching a game at that awesome ballpark, and living in an actual baseball town (where the NBA is all but forgotten) will do wonders for your love of the game.

I get the feeling that he wants to come back.

And it sounds like his wife is telling him that it is ok to play....

    COME BACK ROGER !!!

    ONE MORE YEAR....

how's that racist? Its a fact that black people dominate the sports world so when a white team all of a sudden comes along and does well, its impressive.

I totally agree Nick, before the Astros season started (last year) , I was so pumped up for the Rockets and was so excited about them. When they made the playoffs I couldn't get enough of them. From the day the season ended against the Lakers I couldn't wait till the next season started......and then Astros happened.

Now the Rockets have started to play this season I have yet to really get into them.

Like I said, I watched the clips from the Astros sight showing the playoff run, and man. I almost broke when I saw Kent hit the game winning HR again.

Nothing compares to the Astros right now to me. Baseball has definetly moved up in my book.

I plan on being around again next year through out the entire season as I was this year, even when the going was tough. I am definetly in the "club" Madmax. ;)

anyways, if Beltran signs, clemens will pitch for us...

Wasn't racist, just weird. Why put something like that in a post?

Is there any chance Roger will pitch for us if the team isn't all that good? The payroll is supposed to remain the same. But there are a ton of deferred money we're paying out right now, with Berkman's contract/arbitration figures still up in the air. If we don't get Beltran, why would Roger come back to pitch for a .500 ballclub.

i don't see carlos beltran as the difference between being a contender and being just a .500 team. i don't think one position player is that important in baseball.

I agree. I think some people forget this team was picked by many to get to the world series long before Beltran arrived.

Having Pettitte and Miller back in the rotation, along with having an elite closer in Lidge rather than the inconsistent Dotel is huge. By adding a couple of arms in the bullpen, this team is set to make another run, at least if Clemens is on the roster.
