I never said you couldn't win with Jokic style of play. Anytime a player can do what he does, you can open the court for eveveryone. That's what we need from Alpi

Even worse. You thought KPJ and Wood are starters on championship level teams but you doubted you could win with Jokic!

Are there still a lot of believers that Sengun is a franchise player? I know that's the title of the thread but the thread is really old, and at this point I think most rockets fans have realized he's not.

If the franchise player farce has finally died down, do you think most would consider him a top 20 player in the league right now? That isn’t a franchise guy, but even that still comes with major expectations.

I’m just not with the constant lame excuses for this dude

You know the haters don't let facts get in the way of their hatred. Will Sengun every be an elite defender? No. But he is a good one, at times great, but he will never get credit because they are stuck on their ways. I've never seen a bunch of people ignore facts more than the Sengun haters and politicians.

I still stand by ALL of those comments!

When Denver won their Championship, they put two 6'10 forwards next to Jokic to help him defensively.

Jokic is not a defensive stalwart by no means, however because he is so big and long, he cloggs the lanes. And as of today, neither Sabonis or Sengun has gotten past the 2nd rnd....So my theory holds true!

AND IM GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE A FAN! OBVIOUSLY, YOU'VE BEEN FOLLOWING ME FOR A LONG TIME......KIND OF CREEPY BUT MOST FANS ARE

Wasn't one of those forwards MPJ? Who's a complete zero on defense? Like, beyond a zero?

Yeah I think top 20ish is right around where I'd have him, definitely at the low end, maybe top 25? Somewhere in that range, and I think he plays at that level. I haven't actually made my own list but I think guys in the same tier/range as Sengun are guys like Siakam, Markkanen, Jdub, Julius Randle, Franz Wagner, Scottie Barnes? I think he fits into that tier, those guys are somewhere around 18-30 depending on your own judgement and preference. They're good players, but you definitely aren't going anywhere if that's your best player. And yeah, I don't like the excuses, and I don't think he needs them at this point. Like nobody makes excuses when Steven Adams and Clint Capela miss their free throws. At some point that's just who you are as a player. I don't think Sengun is ever going to knock down his free throws, and I don't think he's ever going to be an efficient scorer. I think that's just stuff you gotta live with when it comes to him.

For a man to follow another another man for the long, he has to be either a fan OR homosexuel. Im hoping he's a fan

LENGTH! If you know anything about basketball, you know length on the wings makes up for a lot of defensive mistakes.

    He avg 17ppg 7 rbg and 40% 3pt .07 blks

    I'll take that ANYDAY

Is Sengun a great player? Yes with limitations.

Will the rockets win a championship building around Sengun? No I don’t believe so with his limitations and how centers are played in the league now - specifically having the ability to shoot.

Is Sengun our franchise/number 1 option? Hell no. He is a great complimentary player but he isn’t our #1 option.

23 and that's all he is? When players continue to improve every year? When NBA primes don't even start until 27?

Seriously ya'll, if he was already 27 (as players enter their official 27-32 prime), sure, maybe then he would be who he is. But at 23? Lol, ya'll just letting your bias shine through. This is the kind of stuff that makes the haters sound dumb. You can say he is what he is right now, a fringe 2x all-star, but to say he can't improve at 23? Ridiculous.
