Carmelo's team will win that. Excellent starting lineup Guards: Sheppard, Castle Forwards: Boyles, Flagg Center: Clingan Bench: Harper, Fears I don't do sports betting but i would bet on that team to win.
Reed with his best game in a long while, going 16/6/4 with 4/6 from 3. Unfortunately still one of the two guys with negative plus minus this game, but you know what I will blame that on Crapella who was absolutely horrible.
Sorry DD, probably not happening with this **** coach. Pritchard didn’t break out until that pervert left town. He prefers to “win” with the Marcus Smart, Josh Okogie, DFS, Grant Williams, Jae’Sean Tate, Robert Williams, Steven Adams, Clint Capela, Daniel Theis lineups. Muh effort, muh tuffness, muh physicality, muh rebounding
If only this team wasn't Tilman Fertitta's vanity project. If only he had a clue about basketball. Because Stone and Udoka need to go. Hidebound fools. Unless they had some sort of trade lined up that must wait for the summer (which would suck to waste KD's 38th year on Earth). Not counting on this.
Tbh I think Udoka is handling Reed pretty fairly and consistently throughout the season. The logic to me seems like he’ll get 20 mins regardless and if he’s hitting his shots and not getting cooked on defense he’ll play around 30-35 and get the closing minutes. It’s bad for his overall stats and maybe he could accelerate through his mistakes faster if he was starting and playing 34 minutes a night. But overall I think it’s better for him long term to prioritize winning basketball on a team that’s trying to compete for a championship - rather than being in Utah or New Orleans where he might average 20 on a team that’s wins 15 games.
Good to see him finally have a good shooting game again. It was a ROUGH stretch of games. Hope he can build it into another hot streak and it's not just a one-off.
Yeah, I think this is related to the mystery of Reed's high +/- before Adams got injured. Reed and Adams generally went in together, and that made Reed's defensive numbers look better than they would have if he'd gone in by himself. Now it's Clint going in with him instead, and the numbers are suffering accordingly. But maybe one of you has a stat breakdown to refute this explanation?
Ime legit played this lineup last night: Sheppard Amen DFS Capela Sengun that's an all-time terrorist ball lineup.
I was puzzled since I’m a big +\- guy, one of the Reddit posts commented about how Reed is n the game with non shooters and DFS is in the game with shooters. We all know DFS barely looks like an NBA player atm I don’t know if that explains everything but think it’s hard to argue we’re better with him on th court. Senguin and KD were intent on throwing the game away until he buried that 3 (was doing it all night) @Will
I keep seeing this comment, and don’t get it. Pritchard also didn’t “break out” in his 1st season with Mazzulla. Udoka actually gave him more run both in regular season, and especially the playoffs.
DFS had 3 points on 1/2 shooting, 1 rebound, 2 assists and was +11 (2nd highest) Reed had 16 points on 6/10 shooting, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and was -5 I looked over the Suns-Mavs game and found something interesting about +/- Gillespie had 5 points on 2/7 shooting and was +25 Booker had 19 points on 7/16 shooting and was -2 Take that for data!
I really think Capela should only play for specific matchup purposes against the BIG bigs, and Bari should get the primary backup 5 minutes otherwise.
There is value in +/- when it's relative, adjusted, and over the long-term. But raw +/- for individual games is mostly worthless and lends itself to knee-jerk evaluations, both good and bad.
LOL.... maybe he should start learning from those mistakes and get those bigger minutes. Ime sure as hell let Reed AKA a generational shooter play through this awful shooting spell for the past month or so.....
LOL.... Pritchard didn't break out until his 3 season under Muzzulla..... It's amusing how easy it is to disprove your emotional arguments.
Rockets are the worst 2 point shooting team in league. And take fewest 3's. Making assists hard to get. Either Sheppard comes in as a passer and can make chicken soup out of chicken poop (what people want a "facilitating point guard" to do). Or it's predictable chicken poop, no matter who is passing to them Eason is an example of that predicament. Eason is simply a bad 2 point shooter, the worst on the team by volume. Though he is maybe the only one increasing his 3 point shooting to help on the "math problem". Everyone else except Durant are mostly a bunch of Terrible Two-point Tari's. So who or what helps on that "math" problem? Sheppard himself I don't think Statmuse is that reliable, but it says that Sheppard shoots better in 2nd half of games than the 1st half. Without accounting for garbage time: 40/37 FG% in 1st 45/41 FG% in 2nd Theorizing, when Sheppard gets feel for the game flow and adapts, and the Rockets suddenly realize they actually can use Sheppard's shooting, his shooting is utilized better. (So a 1st half can be a -9, a +4 in 2nd, but it's a "-5" for the game)
