I also want to add to this that Sengun has a higher defensive rating than Steven Adams who people swear is a better defender than Sengunl. On the list of the top 20 highest defensive rated centers Sengun is 17th but no one above him avearages as many assists or steals proving that no one can do EVERYTHING elite. Its asking too much. Sengun already does a lot of **** for this team without credit. I don't know how many times I've made a comment about how when Adams comes in to replace Sengun, the other team immediately scores a bunch in the key that they weren't scoring moments earlier. It just goes to show people formed an opinion and will never deviate from it.
And the haters had all the excuses for Silas to do that. The very same posters who blame others for having excuses for Sengun’s poor performances, as if he has an obligation to play flawless all the time regardless of the circumstances.
Going to be fair here and praise Sengun for the way he has played the last 2 games. Upped his energy on the defensive end, for sure, and a little bit with more rebounding effort. Proud of his response to a horrible last week.
Not sure if FVV was the key. Knowing someone on the team is a bulldog and consistently show up on defense (Brooks) may have been the key motivator. Brooks was a dog. Most of us were thinking Jalen Green was the weak link on defense. This year it appears that defense is never consistent. Jalen Green getting traded was discussed more but it appears Brooks' presence would have been impeccable for this year's team. Durant is a bad defender, but he is also the most senior and accomplished on the starting 5. Not having a defensive leader like Brooks has made everything worse. Wish we could just give DFS and Bari and get Brooks back.
