With all the money Mullin's invested in Derek Fisher, what would you think about trading for Speedy Claxton? He's averaging 8.5ppg and 4.8apg with 2.13 turnovers in about 28 minutes.

Speedy has zero 3pt range, but he's good from midrange and a decent finisher. He has decent dribble penetration/drive-and-kick ability, and despite his size he's a serviceable defender. I think he'd be an upgrade over anything we have currently, and Mullin could be willing to deal with the horrendous start the Warriors have had. Maybe a Howard/Lue for Speedy/Cliffy Robinson deal? We'd give up some bench scoring in Howard (and Mullin seems to enjoy paying for overrated, washed-up veterans), but I think Speedy would be effective, and Cliff is still a smart veteran who can still D up and pass from the high post.

Speedy's been getting the bulk of the minutes for them. Why would they want to trade him away?

I think we could definitely see Nachbar, Lue, and possibly another contract shipped out in a trade for a decent point guard.

we should tell them to chose two of these three players [gaines, boki, lue]. it works cap wise and is pretty fair IMO.

i'm a big fan of speedy since i work for hofstra basketball. i saw him before he signed the big contract with the warriors. i told him to go to the rockets. he said he would love to but he wants to start....well, here you go speedy.

what a perfect JVG player. doesnt try to do TOO much. plays D like a mofo. excelent pure PG. of course we all know he cant shoot, i mean i beat him at horse, but i have a great jumper :p

the major point here is....why would GS do it? well, 36 million reasons are derek fisher. and those reasons will last 5 years. expiring contracts, young players, picks. the right amount of all that will get it done.

    boki, lue = expiring contracts
    boki, gaines = young players
anyone with a first rounder in 2007

i would make the trade for speedy if it were possible.

I hope Sura is the solution to the point guard problem. I've seen Sura play ball, and he is definitely an energy guy. Hopefully, he'll be able to maintain his intensity throughout the game and lend everyone some his energy in the 4th quarter.

Speedy won't be given up...and not for the crap we're trying to offer in this thread especially. Warriors aren't taking contracts either.

Don't forget he's injury-prone..let him prove himself to be healthy for a bit..

--where did Delfino come from? He can't run the point. He's a 2/3 kinda guy who can slash. He's out of control a little bit sometimes, too
