We're protecting our tradeable contracts/draft picks to go after Giannis in the offseason...that's why we didn't trade for Harden or make any trades that would deplete those assets.
The front office know with this current roster we ain't winning **** this year.

I would need to see the potential trade package before I react.

After how Ime dogged Alpi in the presser it made me wonder. It makes sense, it's what we did with KD last season IIRC.

Stone didn't do much, everyone wanted KD at the deadline, it was rumored we would get him...didn't happen. KD stays, then gets traded in the offseason. Makes me wonder if that's the plan especially since Tilman is paying the tax for no apparent reason, a team even offered (suns) to get him under the tax...didn't know owners looked out for each other like this lol...but Rockets decline.

So my theory is that they are holding for something we are not aware of right now. Giannis is as much of an Ime type of player as there could be. Could be someone else. Could be nothing...but it is odd that the Rockets could have got under to avoid the tax without losing anything and chose not to.

It is hard to imagine a Giannis team and its spacing with either Amen or Sengun though...

It's not that hard, we are seeing it now. You can't put two non-shooters on the court in today's NBA. Giannis is one of the most injury prone players in the NBA and you are adding him to a roster chalked full of them. The thing I like least about Giannis is his FT shooting, it is abysmal.

I don't even know what we would trade for Giannis to have a functional team afterwards. I am sure Ime would love to throw him out there with Adams and Thompson for one of the worst offenses ever seen in the NBA. Well, at least for the 20 or so games that those 3 guys would play together before injuries.

Yeah I'm against Giannis but I know if Ime had his way, that would be the move. I'm just not sure how it would work offensively unless Amen improved his shooting...which if he did that, he'd be a superstar player no doubt any ways...

But I'm against the Giannis move in general, players that depend on athleticism age really poorly, every injury he gets will slow him down.

I guess Giannis works if you also trade Amen for shooter or another young player that can shoot. Like say Charlotte has a lot of shooters, Amen for Miller or something.

Well yeah, obviously you're not going to pick the guy who plays 1 man ball if you want to be passed the ball in the all-star game. Hardly James' fault 2 people who couldn't come close to his offensive game were jealous.

I think Giannis is very important for this team

We need to assemble the greatest non-shooting roster of all time

No shooters, no PGs (since they can't play defense), perfect Ime team.

Yes, and because our current roster sucks and is dependant on a player that was relevant like 10 years ago....

This is the real problem. Getting Giannis basically forces you to go all-in because he needs four shooters around him. You're probably trading one of Amen or Sengun for him and the other for the best player you can get who shoots the three ball. And then you have what, maybe a two year window with KD?

I would hate to sell everything just for a two year window. It's too hard to win a championship in the NBA, especially while trying to get basically a whole new team to gel together. Even the Heatles didn't manage it the first season together.

While Harden's on court game seemingly is a fit for us...

Harden quit on us -- he purposely got fat to force a trade. He's not welcomed back!

    GOOD DAY

Still averaged 24/10 on good efficiency, carrying a bunch of role players and scrubs in the season he "quit" (politely asked for a trade months before in the off season).

I've heard the expression that "if you're not cheating - then you're not really trying." - I do NOT subscribe to this notion... I believe there is a certain level of sportsmanship and integrity involved - or at least there should be...
I was happy to support our team during the 'treadmill of mediocrity' years (Scola, KMart, etc) bc even though we didnt have the talent - our guys played hard... and I appreciated that.... (despite the 1 time they were laughing on the bench during a blow-out)

Conversely... the playoff game that harden threw... where he obviously dgaf... right b4 Morey gave him a max deal... made me embarrassed to be a Rockets fan... from that game forward, James Hard-on could go fk himself as far as I was concerned... If folks STILL cant see what a narcissistic s.o.b. this dude is - then idk what to tell u, man...

so yeah... i guess if i gotta make a deal with the devil in pursuit of a chip... i'm good, bro!

He got multiple big pay days here. I highly doubt we outright rejected him. We probably shot down the idea of a big money extension.

yea can never take any fans seriously who rather the team b sht but at least they have a team "playing the right way". That's pure coping from fans who supported sht teams like the browns and jets

Folks watch their team for them to win, not lose the right way.
