Reed Sheppard report card

There’s a brutal simplicity to it. He’s small, and the league has noticed. Every possession turns into a search party, and he’s the one getting hunted. Religiously. You can almost hear opposing coaches circling his name on the whiteboard.

No NBA coach survives trying to make him and Sengun work on defense. Sure, the shot will eventually show up, but right now he looks like someone who skipped a step on the way to the big dance.

Meanwhile, Donovan Clingan and Stephon Castle are casting a big shadow.

 

Thought this was pretty accurate in regards to the Reed prototype and it's place in today's NBA. +5 years ago, a player with his skills would be a hot commodity. But nowadays you got plenty of +6'5 players all over the NBA that can shoot better than him, with better ballhandling/playmaking skills. We just need to temper our expectations with him. A solid backup pg is probably his ceiling

Reed? I think his shot is off for physical reasons that are causing mechanical issues. If you’re 21 years old and icing your knees during a game, something is up. I’ve never heard a lamer line from a GM than Stone with the “not our year” BS. If I owned the team I would’ve fired him and Ime after the Hornets game. I’m sure Morey had faults but I generally felt like he made good moves that panned out. And if that team was in an era where they didn’t have to play against an all time great team we had enough to win rings. I get the sense there’s some funky chemistry and in fighting going on in the locker room right now.

I thought they should have pulled the trigger and dealt him before the deadline. Again he doesn’t fit with what this team is trying to do. It’s baffling what the Rockets are doing. We may ultimately see him in a deal for a star this summer. Something’s got to change. Amen Sengun just aren’t good enough.

To be fair bro he is a top 3 pick, its not like he was undrafted. He gets the same expectations as Jalen, Amen and Jabari.
