Amen is getting the Sengun deal and Sengun is getting dealt. Can't build around a 1-way center that can't shoot, cant defend and cant make free throws.
Maybe we can sucker someone into taking Durant the way they did with PG. But then I don’t trust this front office when it comes to finding another SGA. Damn we suck always.
LOL, there was never a universe where I was building around Alperen Sengun. What’s wild isn’t the take, it’s how long it took people to finally notice what was right there the whole time.
Fair enough. I'm almost certain that DFS was an Ime signing and that's a big part of why no deadline deal was made.
Actually, I completely agree with this. It's painfully obvious that we don't have that Alpha among our young players. We have several guys who are good complimentary pieces to put around that alpha .... If you don't have that guy, you keep swinging until you get him.h No one on this roster should be untouchable. The problem is, that would mean admitting that the rebuild is still stuck in phase 1.
The vision (and @subtomic too with this) is mini-Giannis. That's it really. Giannis has always gotten a plurality of his points in transition, with just a small sprinkling of cuts, post-ups, pick and roll, and inefficient shots away from the rim (each category being worth two or three points a game for him). It doesn't matter that much who you have guarding Amen when the defense isn't set, he will find the hole in the defense and get to the rim. Otherwise, just like Giannis when he can't force his way to the rack, he has to become a passer. And that's fine if you have four shooters around him. Amen is too much of a threat 1-on-1 to not have guys cheating off and creating openings for the assist. Now, do I think Amen is going to be a true #1 option with this kind of offense--probably not, unless the jump shot comes around. But he could perhaps be #1A to a #1B or vice-versa.
Yes, build around the guy who is completely nullified when a big man defends him from 6 feet away. Nice.
Nah that guy's a massive asshat, he wouldn't be an assistant for anybody, he'd only come as a head coach, expected to be treated like a "legend" whilst looking like a complete nutjob in the media and we'd just have twice as many nutjob Turkish fans b****ing every time we lost.
Scola was sneaky good shooter and free throw. He was crafty and knew his role, definitely averaged +20ppg if he was the main focal point of the offense but international players were not getting that chance at that time, it was mostly Jokic changed the perception that they can build around international talent (Dirk started it but Milicic just sabotage right away). I’m still taking sengun for what I saw from his rookie season, basically he regressed as play maker under Udoka
Either trade Sengun or Thompson or both. Sengun Thompson Jabari Shephard All should be traded. Get Giannis. Get Turner. Get a star/borderline star SG or pg. keys to a championship.
He's playing with the number 6 scorer in the history of professional basketball, the #2 3 point shooter in the league this season, the best shooter in the 2024 draft. He's had Dillon smoking the nets. Jabari shooting career high on career high volume. Fred. Holiday only thing he does is shoot 40% from 3. Okogie almost 40% from 3. Alpe? I think this team is like #2 or 3 in post up possessions this year. It was probably for DFS post up possessions lol just kidding, it's Sengun possessions. He gets a ****ton of postups, isolation possessions and HIS efficiency is dog poop. He does a lot of work, for sure. It just isn't amounting to anything, and it's not someone else's fault.
