Should investigate Ime and Stone for industrial sabotage. I bet Ime's working for the Spurs behind our backs.

I kinda would've liked Harden back.

He wouldn't need to be the same player he was during his peak carrying the Rockets. He'd be mostly a facilitator and we've seen how good he is at that.

u are not serious about winning then. We sorely need a pg, but since we have folks in the front office with petty mindset like you, we are wasting another season. Maybe u r just content just "making playoffs". Our team is gonna b back down in the cellar of being sht soon when KD is gone

You guys know that Harden tried his best to get another contract, he bounced soon as he figured he wasn’t gonna get another from the Clippers. I love Harden but for amount he is requesting is very poor way to spent cap space

What was the offered deal? Or could have been done to work? I’m sure FVV wouldn’t say no to a clippers trade.

Hardens goal was to one day just retire here, seems like he’s getting the Rashard Lewis treatment now. I doubt he will try anymore.

Harden, even if you had to trade one of Tari or Bari, would have made this team the best in the west, I truly believe that. Harden is still balling his ass off.

I want to say it was dumb of the org to pass this up on and mostly it is incredibly stupid, the only thing stopping me from going that far is it would have depended on FVV waiving his NTC and either Fred wasn't going to do so OR they didn't think it was worth bringing up to him.

The real question is why Fred Van Vleet has a NTC in the first place.

Agree with this all. Harden immediately becomes our second best player. I think FVV would waive it for LA. He loves spending time doing podcast appearances there.

    F*ck Stone. F*ck Ime. F*ck VanVleet.

The 3-headed albatross that has destroyed Houston basketball.

While he's been incredibly bad at times, he currently, compared to Dwyane Wade in the playoffs:

    Higher per 36:
    True shooting
    Rebounds
    Assists
    Points
    Steals

Wade has him beat on blocks, turnovers, and fouls.

Just saying don't ignore other stars can look bad too and even still get rings.

Honestly, if we didn't have to give up much to get Harden AND if things went smoothly, Harden and KD with the kids might have been pretty special.

But given both of those stars' track records, the probable reality is that before long friction sets in and both locker room and on-court chemistry is destroyed and the whole multiyear rebuild that us fans suffered through goes completely down the toilet.

Loved Harden while he was here (most of the time), but don't care to see him on a Rockets team ever again.

I'm cool just waiting on bringing him back until he's just happy to get a paycheck.

It’s actually embarrassing how this management/coaching group has treated a Rockets’ legend and 2nd greatest player in franchise history these last 3 years.

‘But he asked out!!!!’ He asked out because he was surrounded by the corpses of John Wall and Demarcus Cousins while he was in his prime trying to win a championship.

And the fact that he’s tried to come back twice (while still playing at a high level) and they’ve rebuffed him twice is just embarrassing for this city. There’s a reason why the Toyota Center is empty every single night.

I didn’t want Harden back, but at least we would have a built in offense….for the regular season.

I think it was collectively bargained and implied.

Yes but pretty sure his question is why did Stone give him a contract that Stone knows he cannot trade? There were plenty of ways to work the contract so that it is tradeable. But why Stone gave FVV this exemption, one that not even Harden has gotten in all his years with the Rockets, is interesting.

But according to Harden he wasn't the one that asked for the trade. He only waived his no trade clause and accepted the trade because he wanted to help the Clippers rebuild and get some draft capital back. What a nice guy. :p

    James is an amazing player.

There's a price for getting fat and being unprofessional.
