Then it's up to him to find a solution if he's hunting. He can't go out and whine like that at post-game press conferences. Everyone needs to do their own job. If someone in a leadership position constantly blames the players, it proves they are not a leader. Someone who is not a leader cannot be a coach. Even if Şengün leaves and Jokic comes, this guy will still manage to screw things up somehow. We're talking about someone who doesn't even know how many timeouts are left. Even when it's obvious a foul is coming, he gives the ball to the player with the worst free throw shooting. All he knows is walk onto middle of the court, give weird looks, and complain about the players after the game.
Sengun had probably the lowest effort game that I've ever seen from him tonight. He didn't look like he wanted to be out there. I've never seen him like that before.
Very disappointing. The most condemning thing for Sengun is lack of effort. I don't know what happened, but it's clear for all to see. If the all-star break doesn't fix things then I'll feel far more pessimistic about this team than I currently do.
sengun needs to realize this is not his team as long as KD is here. he better spend more energy and effort on defense or else he's about to be the scapegoat. jalen green ain't here anymore to take away all those criticism.
yea...ball hogging and stupid plays etc will drive us crazy... but completely mailing it in like that was bad. as bad as i've seen since mgrady toronto'd (actually way worse in hindsight he was pretty injured)
I'm not saying Jalen played well against the Warriors...I'm saying there isn't someone else to blame. Sengun isn't even jumping for tip-off. What the hell is that?
I think it's interesting he's saying this now. This is what he said about Sengun when he got hired in 2023. source: (Houston Chronicle) houston-rockets-ime-udoka-nba-philosophy-18106659.php That seemed like a shot at Silas. I know most people here hate Silas, but I always thought he was more of a victim of the situation because he had a young, developing roster. And now we know that there were no superstars among that early crop of draft picks drafted by Stone. Competent vets make all the difference in the world. You take away FVV and Brooks and we lose our edge. Udoka who looked like a great coach last year, looks average. This is why I put most of the blame on Stone and the front office than on the coaches. Winning in this league comes down mostly to having special players that fit together. There's only so much scheming you can do with a poorly constructed roster.
that may be part of the problem - he started feeling himself last year after being a All Star and now this year he didn’t make it but KD got selected and he’s pouting
You didn’t watch last night’s game apparently. While udoka and Stone loser were holding their press conference to announce they did zilch….Cam Thomas was meeting with the Heat and Lakers.
And crying to the ref every time he tries to score on the other end, regardless of whether the shot goes in or not. That’s what I hate the most. He has become a whiny b****.
The solution is to bench Alpi's ass until he gets his chit together. Scoring a measly 7 points and playing defense like a granny is unacceptable.
Build around Amen and his bum as jumper. At least he plays defense and cares. Sengun should be shipped out the first opportunity another star is available.
Not to mention the game last week we won and he had 2 rebounds. He is 6'11 playing Center he should get 10 rebounds by accident.
Ironically we thought Stone signed Sengun to a good deal under his value, but ironically his contract is probably exactly what he’s worth given how he’s played this season.
