Aren’t there people here that criticize anybody for calling this team out and say they’re freaking out for no reason?

Wtf do they see when they watch these games

Hornets up 20 and their coach is running sideline calling plays and yelling. On the other side Ime is sitting down sulking

Continue to quadruple down on non-shooting and offensive rebounding

    From press conference today)

(Per cleaning the glass, 22nd in points per play in half court but 6th overall in large part due to offensive rebounding, second chance points, that kind of thing. How would you assess the half court offense and can the offensive rebounding and second chance points is sustainable without Adams?) We want to be better but our offense has been very good. I talked this about this past summer. There are no style points. Saying the thing we do better than everyone else doesn’t matter, I’m not saying you’re saying that but if someone would, that’s not an argument I buy into. What I buy into is are you effective or not? And we are and have been. Since he went down, we’ve been rebounding at a 36% offensive rebounding clip which would still be #1 in the NBA. The one thing I do believe and expect post-all-star, Steven is a bit of a crutch. Amen has been the best non-big offensive rebounder in past years. Tari was in past years. Jabari always well above average. Well yeah, get back to doing it. It’s great if Steven gets every offensive rebound and you can chill but we have talented guys who can do it and puts an onus on us to do it by committee. To the extent this group has an identity, that is a big part and we should continue to lean into it.

Ime: We’ve had ups and downs on offense for sure, in large part the shooting. Started the year off really well shooting the three, best percentage in the league, although lower attempts. Had the rough stretch vs Portland and Sacramento. Went through our slump there. We haven’t had any drop off at all since Steven been gone. We want to maintain that identity for sure. … Offensively, whether it’s Jabari in his slump or AlP in his slump at times, when guys come back to the norm, those numbers will go up. Continue to work on pace, ball & body movement and in half court, needs to be not as stagnant and dependent on isolations.

ESPN puff piece a few weeks ago:

“Udoka expressed resolve in his team's unconventional offensive approach and its potential for sustainability.

"The formula can work," he told ESPN.

Udoka and the Rockets coaching staff experimented all of last season playing big lineups and finished the 2024-25 campaign leading the NBA in offensive rebounds per game (14.6). Houston's size also allowed it to crash the offensive glass off misses with ferocity. That naturally yielded more second-chance points, another statistical category the Rockets led last season (18.1) on the way to a 52-30 record.

"We saw something that worked last year and kind of tripled down, quadrupled down on it," Udoka said. "We became a bigger team. ... We're taking advantage of our size and the offensive rebounding that some of our guys naturally do. Amen's great at it, Tari's great at it, Steven's great at it. Jabari and some of those guys have grown into it, Alpi as well. So, it became a thing last year. But we've doubled down on it this year."

…Back then, Udoka stood his ground. And his resolve to do it now has only grown stronger, knowing that his unconventional scheme can reap benefits down the road that Houston hasn't experienced since the 1990s, when it last reached the NBA Finals.

"That's how they've played since he got there," [Will] Hardy said. "That's an identity that Ime and their roster has created.

Whatever magic Ime worked the first couple seasons has disappeared lately

May just be a rough patch but if this team continues to collapse the rest of the season Ime and Stone both need to go and we need to re-tool around the young players. And probably trade one of Amen or Sengun for the best youth/picks package we can get, unfortunately.

Alpi and Amen have been absolute trash. The defensive gameplan has been figured out.

Where is Jeff Green? Where is the leadership? He should be out there unless he absolutely has nothing left. In which case, why not use that roster spot on someone who can help?

Our offensive flow died with FVV
Our offensive rebounding died with Adams

Maybe but they been like this all year, they were like this yesterday. It's like once they get down they just mope and give up. No fight in the team. No fire.

I guess it makes sense when you think about it, the team attacks one way and if it doesn't work then ah well.
