Rockets did the right thing today by not making changes. This is the formula that has worked so well for the past 30 years of futility. Why change now???
I can’t be upset because I don’t know the exact details of any of the possible scenarios. I’m sure Stone has the long term vision as the primary focus. KD is great but look at every place he has been. Scorched less the loaded GSW.
I don't even think our guys believe in themselves anymore. I couldn't be more frustrated with Sengun. There has been no improvement. I was buying in to the baby Jokic idea. He's still good, but I've lost all hope of him ever being a superstar.
This team is cooked beyond belief. This team's peak will just be a 2nd round exit. Worst part is we're going to have to suffer another 4 years of this before Stone gets canned and we start the rebuild all over again.
Any chance we trade KD in the offseason for whatever marginal assets we can get and reset our timeline? Or are we really going to bank on another elite and relatively healthy season along in hopes of Fred saving us? We can't be that delusional can we? Heads have to roll.
I agree with a lot of this. But, I have a different conclusion. We have this huge lack of handles/playmaking/shooting. But, how much will a role player improve the likelihood of winning a championship? The team needs a near all star level primary playmaker. Even if you add a decent PG, in difficult times and/or late game situations, the ball will be in your best players' hands. That's how it works for every team. In addition to that the team needs to minimize the number of non shooters on the court at a time. Amen and/or Sengun have to become better long range shooters. There's pretty much a zero percent chance this team wins a title if both players continue to develop as non shooters.
The Rockets would likely have been better off - or at least, no worse off, if they entered the season with Jalen, Dillon & 12th pick (who would be in RGV)
