Why is Trump covering up the Epstein files while protecting pedophiles?

Once again, I have yet to see in this thread (or anywhere else) a single Democrat defending Clinton or any other Democrat. It's only the Republicans defending Trump and other Republicans.

Trump lashed out at yet another female journalist who presses him on Epstein

During a press meeting in the Oval Office last night, Collins asked the President a straightforward and entirely legitimate question in response to the heavily redacted sections of the Epstein files: “What do you say to people who feel like they haven’t gotten justice, Mr President?”

“What did you say, CNN?” he barked. “You are so bad. You know, you are the worst reporter. No wonder CNN has no— CNN has no ratings because of people like you.”

Trump then blanked the question entirely in favour of scrutinising Collins herself.

Addressing others in the room, he said: “You know, she’s a young woman, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile. I’ve known you for ten years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face.”

Collins, calmly and professionally, tried again. “Well, I’m asking you about survivors of Jeffrey Epstein.”

Trump interrupted her to say the reason she wasn’t smiling was because she “knows she’s not telling the truth,” adding that CNN “should be ashamed” of her.

“These are survivors of a sexual abuser,” Collins stated once more, refusing to be baited into the sideshow Trump was so clearly intent on creating.

Of course, we have seen this pattern repeatedly from Trump. Women journalists asking serious questions about Epstein, accountability and power and the President responding with gendered contempt.

Even more nauseating is how his Press Secretary has commented in the past to defend him by saying his comments showed the president’s “frank and honest” nature, and that Trump simply gets “frustrated with reporters” who behave in an “inappropriate and unprofessional way.” She's also rejected the suggestions that Trump has an issue with women reporters — a claim that becomes harder to sustain with each new incident.

If you were one of the people who cared about this issue above everything and aligned yourself with Donald to "get to the bottom of it", how completely used would you have to feel that the guy you put all your faith into fixing the problem is actually one of the villians.

I can't imagine the sense of disillusionment the one-issue voters who supported Trump over his calls to out the Epstein Files must feel that they were actually enabling and supporting the very people they were focused on stopping. I mean, it should have been fairly obvious if you looked a little closer, but I know a bunch of credulous people were duped. I can't imagine what a kick in the groin that must be. It's like an "Order 66/Anakin massacring the younglings" moment.

Its practically operatic in the melodrama of the betrayal.

 

Some are going to go down with that ship, lose friends, jobs, family members - all because they just can't admit they were lied to and let it go.

Trump couldn't even stop himself from bringing up politics and spewing insults at the National Prayer Breakfast this morning. He has absolutely no impulse control. It doesn't matter where he is.

 

Few public figures I respected more than Chomsky. Fvck that guy.

 

I am shocked but shouldn't be that the names of the accusers are all over the place but the names of the person sending the disgusting e-mail are redacted so we can see who they about but not the person doing the abusing....................It was 100% on purpose, plus the files that they STILL haven't published must be the worst of the worst. Glad to see Clinton going to sit before congress and this "transparent" admin who like to use the phrase daily will do it behind closed doors, I call BS, all they want is some salacious soundbites to feed to the sheep.............put it all out before the public. And you know why tramp says it's a bummer that the Clintons have to do this is only because if he tried to grill them the irony that tramp isn't doing it also is LAUGHABLE, trumps timelines are already being dissected. Thumbs up to the EU for firing some powerful people, the USA does not have the balls to do it, we lost the "Golden Standard" in virtue when the orange man took the oval office
