I wouldn't have loved trading Tari for either of those guys, but I wouldn't have hated it either. I think Tari is better "when he's healthy", but those three words have been kind of a sticking point for him. It seems like we could have gotten something done with Adams' or DFS' contracts, but I expect it would have required attaching a FRP since Adams is out for the season again and DFS doesn't look like his pre-injury self at all, making them negative values. I think Stone just doesn't want to spend assets right now. He's too value-conscious to trade away real assets to improve the odds of advancing farther into the playoffs. We wouldn't win a championship, but I can't help but think another first round exit would be pretty bad for this franchise all-around.

In this trade scenario for the Rockets, who replaces Rob Dillingham? I get that fans don't value potential, but teams do, I'm not seeing the equivalent here in talent, people were loving Rob's potential last season, that doesn't go away. We weren't sitting on a 21 year old prospect to give the Bulls.
This is pretty much it I think. He has the money to spend but the store has nothing he wants, so why spend? If I'm trading tari/bari/reed whoever, I'm getting something more than an overpaid vet PG or a decent starting level PG. Like I said in the other thread, I'd rather trade Tari for LaMelo or someone like that then mediocre players that don't really move the meter. Hell, I'd rather trade them for Ja. The ONLY guy that was out there that could have made us a contender was Harden, so I'll correct myself on that. Trading Tari or Bari for Harden makes us a contender but it's not even possible unless FVV waives his NTC thing so...maybe it wasn't possible at all.
