Building around Sengun is nearly impossible unless Sengun is a pass-first player... which the organization has clearly abandoned.
I have never seen him look worse than at times this year. I would 100% build around the player we have seen in the past. When a player starts regressing like this, it’s usually an indication of a failing coaching staff, his best season was 23-24 at 21 years old.
You don’t build around hybrid Russell Westbrook/Ben Simmons or Shawn Marion/Andre Iguodala. You don’t build around Sabonis. You don’t build around Rashard Lewis. You don’t build around Jordan Clarkson. You don’t build around Seth Curry. And you most certainly don’t build around 32 year old Fred VanVleet 37 year old Kevin Durant
I think Sengun could be the second best player on a championship team. Honestly, if you added Fred and replaced Amen with a Dillon Brooks/Desmond Bane kind of player, you would be a legit contender right now assuming KD is still playing at this level. Can't see Sengun and Amen working together - bad spacing.
Him and Amen are not gonna work. We should eventually trade one of them. I don't know which one is the correct decision but there definitely is a decision for Stone to make
I said it years ago, you can not build around a short center, who does not play defense. I said all along that he is more Sabonis, than Jokic. Learn from OTHERS! Indiana knew all along Sabonis was limited but Stone went down the same rabbit hole. A player of that archetype can only take you so far.
if Jabari could shoot threes, Tari could stay healthy and Reed wasn't an easy target on defense this team would have a great make up. Sadly those things don't seem likely.
