If Dillon becomes a border line all star after leaving the Rockets, I wonder what Sengun would be under a system built for him.

We were supposed to cut FVV loose but he’s bootybuddies with Ime now - pairing KD with JG would have helped him be more efficient … they could of kept DB also… we would then have a lineup with 3 40% catch and shoot 3pt shooters creating space for Amen and Alpi

Ime failed to make any offensive adjustments vs GS and then threw JG under the bus …now we depend on 37yr old KD to play 40min a game and drop 30 or pray Sengun has a matchup vs a soft non athletic center so he can score 30+ 3x a year

Despite what people think of him, I’m really disappointed we didn’t go after Harden. I think Adams and FVV, plus a pick would have got it done. Of course, trying to get Fred to approve the trade would have been the kicker, but to not even try? Having KD, Harden, and still keeping the young core would have given us a shot to compete and go far in the playoffs.

    Great points KD!

Seriously, I said the exact same thing earlier

I don't even think they made a mistake over the summer. Had FVV not torn his ACL, I think this roster would have fit and performed very well. I think we'd be a top-3 team in the NBA.

The mistake is in not acquiring another competent guard after FVV tore his ACL. We had very limited options to do so until December 15th. It's madness though that they've failed to address this since December 15th.

We're 29th in the NBA in 3-pointers taken and turnover percentage. We cannot succeed in the playoffs with this lack of competent guard play. Also, now that Adams is out, we've also lost some of our rebounding advantage. We probably need to acquire a better backup center.

We have the draft assets to correct this and the DFS contract is available . Stone would be insane is to wait until the 2027 and 2029 drafts to address our weaknesses.

The problem is going all in on KD. KD centered teams have never won anything in his entire career. He should have been brought in as a complementary piece. He should be here to take advantage of his shooting not to be "the man". If we were doing it right, sticking with a Senhub offense, KD would still be leading scorer as a play finisher rather than an initiator. Problem is we have a coach who knows painfully little about getting the most out of a team offensively. We desperately need a coach who can run the Princeton offense.

I think KD was the right move but the package was all wrong. Should’ve kept Green or Brooks and sent them FVV and just signed someone like Ty Jerome @ 9mil a year

This was definitely me at first but when I seen him change the culture I liked him by the end of the first game. Durant is soft and I knew it was a stupid trade. Not only that we made the Suns better which messed our picks up. Durant was my favorite player coming out of that draft but when u join the same team that beat you its 110 percent soft AF and our teams plays soft now

I agree with OP. I didn't want KD in the first place, but now that he's here and we had the unfortunate injury to FVV, you gotta keep trying to compete. It's malpractice to not do anything in this situation. Other franchises have made low cost moves to bring in help before the trade deadline and we should do the same.

And regarding the 'if we only had FVV' excuse...Fred was supposed to be a bridge to Amen and then he was supposed to be a bridge to Reed. Like Dillon, he was meant to be here only temporarily to give our young guys stability to take them to the next phase. The fact that we still need Dillon and Fred is an indictment on Stone and his draft class. Hell, the KD trade was an admission that Jalen Green wasn't the right pick. It's time to admit we tanked through the phase 1 Rockets and we didn't get any stars, only role players at best.

I never liked the trade, not because I don't like Durant, but because I thought they bailed a year too early on the rebuild. The timeliness are just off. Losing FVV was a gut punch too. If he comes back and is miraculously able to be himself by the playoffs, maybe there is some hope, but the odds of all those pieces falling together aren't good. I'm not ready to call the trade a failure, but it will be if they don't do something else. The chemistry of the team is off. It needs something else or they're just wasting what is left of Durant's career.

We traded for KD because he is better than Brooks and Jalen Green full stop. What mistake are you even saying? KD is better than DB and Jalen Green till KD retires. Its a roster upgrade regardless of KD's age. Next year KD will only be making 40M, he'll be the cheapest super star in the entire league. Jalen Green by himself makes 35M. Whether or not we can compete in KDs timeline is irrelevant.

We tanked a grand total of 3 yrs you acting like the Rox had been bad for a decade. FVV is indeed a bridge but you cant get rid of him till end of next year and then he is gone.

KD was never intended to be an all-in play, it was a "dump Jalen Green's bad contract while getting better" play. Going "all-in" with a group of guys mostly age 23 and younger, while almost certainly never having the best player in a playoff series, would be stupid.

None of this has anything to do with FVV's injury, by the way.

Honestly you gotta know when to fold them. Trade KD for a 1st in this draft or a nice young player... we need to do a restructure of this team.

They would NEVER do that though.

Edit: yaaawwnnnn another trade Sengun for Giannis thread.

    Bucks aren’t trading Giannis today.

You say Sengun sucks but also think he can get you Giannis and is better than what the Warriors, Wolves, Heat & Knicks (or host of other teams) could offer. LOL Deeeelusssionnalll

What is going all-in right now mean? For who? Giannis? Bucks aren’t moving Giannis now. Desperate Warriors saw that and moved on. Just like the Suns didn’t move KD last year. So who else is “all-in”?

    Durant: not trading
Sengun: probably not trading (but this is who OP is likely talking about. Get him off the team by any means necessary!)
    VanVleet: can veto any trade
Adams: out for season (might have negative value)
    DFS: definitely has negative value
    Jabari: poison pill
    Reed: ok…
    Amen: probably not trading
    Capela: ok…
Tari: set to be RFA for whatever team
Tate/Okogie/Holiday/Green: minimums (Holiday & Tate can also veto any trade)

Is Coby White “going all in”?

A part of me thinks the Rockets are looking at other Bucks players (Rollins, Portis). Codman has alluded to Portis and Trent before.

There was some dude's twitter comment saying we're looking at Portis. True, not true? The Bucks want draft capital and had been interested in DFS, who didn't play last night but has not inspired confidence in his return anyway.

Such dominos won't fall unless the head domino falls first (of course, the organization and Giannis can agree he stays "hurt" the rest of the season and they trade him in the summer, which could affect if other players are moved from that roster now).

If the Bucks pull nothing this deadline, the Rockets and other teams could wind up scrambling for crumbs or the buyout market.

Here is a great trade: Jabari for Brooks lol.....We would be a lot better if we had Dillon and Fred on the court. I realize Fred is likely gone til next year.
