Yea, that stuff is a pain in the ass, but it's doable. Nobody is being hassled or prevented from getting a license because of their race or anything else. And I will add that, in most (or ALL) large cities the DMV staffers are virtually all black.
I mean, this feels a little unnecessary. It is a pain the ass, but if America wants secure elections than I feel tougher steps are more likely to have to take place.
The biggest threat to safeguarding our elections is the Federal Government pushing to have access voter registration rolls from the state. Seizing previous ballots with the proper warrant and intrusion by them. It prevents an independent election. There haven't been any areas of large scale fraud. The cases so far were from Trump's side. 7 charged in 2024 Pennsylvania voter registration fraud - WHYY https://share.google/Xq6sRdgnDvrJAldbp Florida High Court to Hear Arguments in Politicized “Voter Fraud” Case | State Court Report https://share.google/s3JMXHJPOojmNBLlu By April, 2024, dozens of Republicans in four states have been indicted for their involvement in promoting conspiracies, such as the fake electors or the Pence card plots.[175] Those indicted included Trump and Christina Bobb, who led the Republican National Committee election integrity legal efforts in the 2024 presidential election.[176] In September, Hanna Rosin described how January 6 insurrectionists have created "a new mythology on the right".[177][178] The Justice Department planned to monitor compliance with voting rights laws on Election Day in 27 states.[179] Claims by Trump and Republican allies of election fraud persisted up to Election Day on November 5. After Trump was declared the winner, these claims had largely stopped, with his "election integrity" allies crediting his victory to their efforts.[180][181] In addition to precinct officers or poll workers, many election deniers have also been appointed as presidential electors for Trump in swing states for the 2024 election, among them at least 13 who participated in the Trump fake electors plot in 2020.[292] Two poll watchers enlisted by the Georgia Republican Party had also participated in the Trump fake electors plot, while a third included the Cobb County, Georgia GOP chair who had also spread false information about the 2020 election.[293] Election deniers have also ran in local school board elections.[294] An October 2024 bulletin from the state threat assessment center in Colorado warned of insider threats, "in which people with authorized access to the election process might attempt to derail it."[295] In October 2024, a precinct committeeman who was also a former Republican Congressional District candidate was arrested for stealing ballots.[296] Republican Party efforts to disrupt the 2024 United States presidential election - Wikipedia https://share.google/DPGBivW6QECC6RdoQ By all means I'm in favor securing elections from actual problems. Not pretend ones.
Well it was doable but she wouldn’t have been able to do it on her own since it was a hodgepodge of county office websites for the records. But once everything was in hand it wasn’t difficult.
Every, or almost every, OECD country has a voter ID requirement. It's common sense to the non-deranged. The idea that people are so interested in voting but not interested in taking part in any other activity that requires an ID is completely farcical
QUESTION: Why is your License or ID not enough to register to Vote What was it called. . . the Motor Voter bill Rocket River
I don't get the big deal personally. Why 17% of the country opposes this is for reasons I will never be able to understand.
So this is the new voter intimidation method The hispanics and other minorities voted for them now They gonna surround the polling places with ICE to discourage them from voting Rocket River
Typically driver's licenses were only given to Americans. Then Democrats decided that all foreigners were entitled to licenses and so now those state licenses cannot be relied upon. For that matter, Democrats gave out THOUSANDS of trucking licenses to foreign illegals that don't know English and a lot of people have been killed and maimed by them. What do you think about all that?
ICE is not law enforcement ICE has been shown to be unprofessional, untrustworthy and violent ICE is arresting and even deporting legal American citizens
Why would it matter if ICE is at a place where American citizens vote? The stuff some of you are posting is legit not real. Like what the **** am I reading? LMAO
Men standing with guns who have already killed 2 people standing with guns out side a polling place . . . man it is easy to tell you have to complexion for the protection Rocket River Also . .. . ICE has ****ALL to do with Elections
You really don't think it would matter ? I don't get how this is consistent with what you've said . You can't out of one side of your mouth speak about (paraphrasing) "the lefts irrational fear and craziness around ICE " and at the same time pretend like left leaning voters who irrationally or rationally fear ice assaulting/ detaining them wouldn't be impacted by ICE's presence at the polls Intimidation is a real thing , whether or not ICE actually detains brown people at polling stations . 1) the idea that ice is simply going to check your ID and say move along sir/ma'am is absurd . After all , isn't that what the poll worker is for ? We've seen countless videos and accounts of ICE detainments . They last for hours . 2) intimidation is real even if ICE behaves in the nicest way possible at the actual polls . People assume a risk of violence against them . We are on a basketball forum so I assume you are familiar with the concept of intimidation at the rim. Even if mutumbo doesn't block your shot , players pass up a shot they would have normally taken because of the belief it would be blocked.(Or they alter the shot) This is rational behavior. It would be an observable pattern that US citizens with black and brown skin would turn out less at polling places with ICE than those without them holding everything else constant . And yes that's a hypothetical. If you really can't see any problem with it then I have to say you lack some critical thinking and imagination . I don't have a problem with the SAVE act btw . Though I haven't read it myself . There could be horrible clauses in its 26 pages . However I also think that proven voter fraud is extremely low. Much of it has been Republican over the last decade . @raining threes argument of just look at the numbers is not backed by evidence. Trump tried and failed to prove fraud. Case after case he lost and many were thrown out for lack of standing. Voter fraud isn't an imaginary problem , it is a very small one . Immigration and customs officers at polling places would be active voter intimidation. Especially considering the fact that illegal immigrants , even legal immigrants can't vote.
Nobody who is a US citizen is scared of ICE if they aren't actively trying to stop them from doing their job. Real cute hypothetical fairy world we live in even suggesting it. This takes the cake as one of the more bizarre things I have ever read on Clutchfans and that is truly saying something. People that don't want REAL ID are not saying the real reason they don't want them. The issue that makes the most sense is that some people in here have no issues with illegals voting. Now lets pretend ICE is at polling stations. Because we just shot up some meth and are imagining this. What threat would they have to black or brown US citizens? If you can only vote with an ID, what would be the purpose of having ICE officers. Just ****ing hilarity man. Serious levels of therapy are needed in here.
1 ) wrong . You can argue people are stupid for being scared , but the idea that no one is , is just wrong . 2 ) https://thenationaldesk.com/news/am...ebate-grows-steve-bannon-federalize-elections It is indeed a cute fairy world The former advisor to the president suggested this hypothetical . It's not radical left people making it up 3) you're right , what purpose would ice officers serve being there ? You can say no one takes bannon seriously, but the current president of the United states took him seriously enough to have him as an advisor. So I don't understand what you are arguing.
