Maybe he's just checked out mentally, but he looks really bad this season, and eye test says some of that is physical. Shooting 41% from the field and 23% from three. Career high in turnovers per possession. Biggest issue of all is he's getting to the rim well below his career numbers. He was always been a guy who relied a lot on his athleticism, and it appears injuries have sapped a lot of his pop. Perhaps a change of scenery and playing under a great coach could turn him around, but it looks pretty dire right now.
It would be hilarious, very sad but also much more hilarious, if OKC of all teams get a better guard this trade deadline than the Rockets.
I read somewhere that Ja hasn't played in 7 straight games in years. That to me pretty much sums up the risk of any team trading for him.
OKC making moves to get better meanwhile Stone is trying to be the third team to facilitate other teams getting better. This dude is a straight up bozo.
To be fair, the FRPs aren’t very valuable. One is this year’s OKC pick, and the other is top 20 protected. Still, not a terrible return for AD.
Coming back from injuries but McCain has struggle. Still, another young player with tons of upside. The rich get richer.
OKC has to get better to keep up with the best team. Oh they are the best team and also still getting better? Stone would never.
Yeah my first reaction was "WTF". But if AD isn't coming back (or just for a handful of games) it shouldn't mess up their tank much this season. Maybe they think after this year's draft class they're going to be stocked up on enough young talent and ready to start the climb. The picks they gave up aren't that great. A likely OKC Thunder tail end of the first round pick and top-20 protected GSW pick. May be their version of us signing FVV and Dillon to end our tanking phase.
Not gonna lie, that is a HAUL for McCain. Dude is ok, shone bright last year for a short spell, but I don't know if that was his "normal"
