Capela is fine as a third - break in case of emergency center He can get rebounds and finish okay inside. His lane defense is gone, and he has conditions issues.
At least Simmons can defend in the post better than anyone currently healthy on the Rockets. The concern with Simmons is that he literally doesn't care about basketball or winning. He is more concerned about New York fashion week and his Instagram followers.
Fire stone. how dare you go all in on kd and ruin our rebuild then refuse to get a real point guard when theres literally a fire sale on young guards right now and we desperately need one.
Rockets need somebody who's not going to mind riding the bench when FVV returns, but I personally believe the league has gotten too big for FVV to be as effective in the playoffs as he was with the Raptors nearly 7 years ago. Drafting Reed doesn't make sense since they held on to FVV and now It seems they're betting yet again that FVV is the answer. If they don't advance in the playoffs this is going to piss KD off cause he's already made it publicly known that he doesn't like small guards.
I get that he's old, but I love the pickup if they can snag him on the cheap or grab him on the buyout market. At this point we just need someone for those rough stretches to get the ball over half court, and help direct traffic to get the ball where it needs to go quicker.... and not be a liability as a 3 point shooter. His 3pt% this year is not his normal percentage. I think I would gamble that he could get back to closer to where he was the past 3 seasons in the 40's. Either way, he's a far more likely to actually get guarded than Amen is. Re Reed: As we get into the playoff season, given his shaky handle under pressure, Reed is going to be playing more and more off ball anyways. I wouldn't worry too much about this move putting him on the bench. I think the minutes will be mostly eaten in the minutes we were playing Adams and we'll be able to go smaller for longer stretches of the game.
Meh... I'd prefer the pedigree of Conley TBH. Carter has been in the league for like 10 years, and I don't think more than once he's ever averaged over 20 minutes a game even on bad teams. If its me, I want sort of that coach on the floor persona. Like Jason Kidd with the Mavericks in their later runs. The offense is still going to run through Sengun, and KD. I just want someone who can help those two guys get the in their spots, and work with each other in a much more efficient way.... and get the hell out of the way and just space the floor too when needed. Something that I've noticed Reed and others struggle with too.
Conley always seemed like a class act. Hopefully will have a good coaching career. Speaking of class acts, anyone know if Malcolm Brogdon's in shape? He's only 33 years old...
[Charania] Free agent guard Mike Conley Jr. plans to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell ESPN. The sides are working on timing of him re-signing. Conley was traded twice this week – to Chicago, then to Charlotte –before being released and allowed to rejoin the Wolves. https://www.espn.com/contributor/shams-charania
