Yeah, see, that’s the tricky part. How do you who’s going to pop? SGA, Brunson, Avdija, Jalen Johnson all this guys popped a bit later. How do you know that our guys won’t pop-out? Amen, Reed? Sengun is a star, how do you know he doesn’t have a next level? It’s tricky. I personally only knew about Tyrese Halliburton. Also Harden, but everyone knew about him, except the OKC owner.
Also you pop at the right environment. Any of Reed, Sengun, Amen has potential to pop at some other team, and if Rockets got Avdija he might have not popped because his defense is not good enough. It is not just the player popping, it is the combination player-coach-team that makes the pop happen.
A lot of those guys not all of them popped due to Change of Scenery.....we do not have that going on right now for ourselves. MVPs like Shai or potentially Luka can play literally anywhere. Amen is more of a Mystery Box rn than Sengün ever was....where you definitely bank on his defensive upside and his athleticism more than anything. But one major injury can derail a lot for him. The Tweener thing in Sengün helped him become an All-Star but his non Shooting is not going to make him an MVP. Reed just reminds me of a Payton Pritchard.....I know he is about the same size as Curry but Curry seems longer......
Honestly, I wasn’t upset at all that Şengün wasn’t selected for the All-Star circus this year. Moreover, I don’t think Şengün himself is upset either. And anyone who thinks he will use this as a source of motivation is seriously mistaken. Şengün was an All-Star last year and got it out of his system. What truly motivates him now is winning a championship, not being an All-Star. Also, those who treat Şengün like a rookie just because he hasn’t been performing at his best in the last few games are truly pathetic. In the entire NBA, there is hardly a better contract than Şengün’s. The real problem is that our toxic fanbase doesn’t ask why the Houston Rockets coaching staff has made such an inefficient player out of someone who dominated Giannis and Jokic in the summer, destroyed everyone in Europe, scored 39 points with five three-pointers in the season opener, was completely unstoppable, and won several games with clutch baskets afterward. They don’t question what the Turkish coaching staff is doing right and how Houston is killing its players. What is it about this team that ruins players? Let me be clear: even if a fantasy scenario like trading Şengün for Giannis somehow happened, within a few weeks this same crowd would ruin Giannis too. Then Giannis would get injured and be out for the season anyway.
Sengun made it last year because he was the best player on a very good team. he's the same player, but is no longer the best player on the team. The best player on the team made it again this year. Yet he may still make it as an injury replacement. Borderline All-Star. that's what he was last year, that's what he is this year. Which is pretty damn good. Just not super-duper good. It is what it is. Maybe he has another level in him, maybe not. It's to be seen.
right now he seems to be the worst or 2nd to the worst starter on our team https://www.nba.com/stats/players/a...VIATION*E*HOU:MIN*GE*24&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING
Bring (prime) D'antoni here and Reed would become a Top 20 player within 2 years. People love the b**** about his defense but no one says anything about Brunson, Luka and Haliburton. He can at least get to that level which isnt a high bar.
Missed the game. Knew he had a good one when I had to scroll down to the bottom to find the thread. At this point, there are two types of posters here. Those who think Amen, Sengun Jabari, Reed, Tari all have serious flaws and those those who think Ime can't find roles for this players to succeed. Jabari and Tari maybe less affected by this, but the other 3 have much more specific skillsets and desperately need a coach. And there are some here, dreaming that a player that has not popped in their team, can come here and find success. It is way more likely that the players rockets trade away will be the ones who are popping.
You are right, the haters are real quiet tonight lol. Maybe they put themselves to sleep by watching Jalen Green Rockets highlights to ignore the big bad Turkish man's good game.
**** the haters, I'm honestly just really glad he had a monster game and looked more like himself again. I was worried he might exacerbate the issue into a real ongoing injury. Looked great tonight and hopefully he can get super rested over all-star ready to close out the season strong. I genuinely don't know why Sengun's the big concern and people have anointed Amen because it still looks the other way round to me in terms of potential and where they are currently, hopefully we don't trade Alpi for some other old ass star, no matter how good.
Looked great today but again the knock is can he do this against decent competition? The Grizzlies and Pacers frontcourts aren't exactly awe inspiring.
Thats a dumb knock considerng he doesnt get the ball early in the shot clock when KD plays. He gets less post touches he usually gets it at the top of the key so they can run fades for KD. This is why you dont get KD when youre rebuilding. Sheppard had an off night but without KD he would be starting and getting more minutes and shots. We arent winning a chip with KD so having him is a waste of time for our young guys to learn.
To be fair we had a non-zero chance to win it all if we had fvv. once fvv is gone, the harm is doubled, because without fvv, kd doesn't mean much and udoka can't do **** to save his life if he doesn't have a pg that runs everything for him. No chance to win it and no development in that year.
he needs to go look at Dirk shooting free throw footage, and learn the stance, can not be leaning forward before releasing the ball, bend your knee use the force from ground to help u, not relying just on your hand, get him a shooting coach, otherwise he is going to be a liability come playoff time
KD would be okay if he was not the focal point. This team should be Senhub first with KD being there for outlet passes. Senhub is the key to this team becoming all that it can be.
The best part about KD is he’d probably average just as many points in a Senhub offense as a KD-focused offense.
