Rockets will not be trading anything big this deadline.. Rather will look to dump smaller salaries to be major players in the buyout market. Yule C.
Alvarado or that Gillespie kid in PHX would help our PG situation, assuming Ime is not going to start and develop Reed.
The problem with that is most verts will be ring chasing and Houston wouldn't be at the the top of the list.
Latest trade intel, via sam_amick: - Giannis offers remain underwhelming, "saga looks likely to extend into the summertime" - Cavs have explored trading Jarrett Allen "as a way of unlocking much bigger possibilities" - Raptors need to move Jakob Poeltl if deal for Domantas Sabonis is to happen - Miles Bridges expected to stay put due to Hornets' recent success
Or DFS is Eason Insurance? lol Thing is he could be a totally different player once he gets back to normal next year. Lock on Defense and 3pt shot. 3andD guy. Why the rockets should just shut it down this year, play hard, but dont worry about trying to go anywhere, its obvious injuries are derailing this team. I mean i hope they get past warriors atleast.
Bad fit for us, but Mobley would be the kind of big man for double bigs. I would hate it, but as long as Ime is coach he gonna run double bigs if he has the chance.
I think he could be had on a veterans minimum in the offseason. Injury is a huge part of that, in his 8 years in the league, the most he's played is 52 and 61 games. The other 6 years are 35 or less. I don't think there's a GM in the league that will give him more than that and, in that case, the Rockets have to be the favorite IF they want him because of his relationship with Udoka.
I’d like to pick him up for this year as a viable 3rd center in case Sengun has to rest or hurts his ankle again. As far as injuries are concerned, he’s not much more of a risk than Adams who has missed close to half a season the last 3 years and is undergoing surgery. Plus Williams is a much better defensive player. I’d like to see the Rockets unload Adam’s contract.
Looks like the Cavs are trying to totally revamp the team, trading Garland and Allen. I'm sure they feel a lot of pressure with this underachieving season.
I’m petty but it’s good to see. Mobley looked down on the rockets thinking the Cavs were going to have a much better future. I’m quite sure that over the next 5-7 years the rockets will win more games. That is even taking into account the eastern conference always being weaker too.
Surprised they just dont go for Giannis with that package. Unless he doesnt want Clevlands either. Thats problem with these no trade clauses, and request, its a buisness they need to waive all this stuff. If player is injured should also be able to trade them, with no trade clause. BTW How does FVV hurt himself off camera during a practice? bah
Update - with 48 hours to go, look for the Rockets to investigate moves big - or small - with an emphasis on improving the team, at an attractive price point. DEVELOPING
Mobley improved his shooting since his rookie season. But he's just not good enough to be the 2nd scoring option they need. And Garland has been disappointing. Now they want to get Harden to shore up the offense. But their defense will suffer, if they get rid of Allen too. It will totally change their identity they've built in the past few years. It'll be interesting to see how Harden plays with Mitchell.
If Fred is rejecting all trades, then let's just trade him in the off-season, after he has opted in for next season. We need to find an upgrade for him one way or another.
