Kevin Durant announced as 2026 All-Star reserve. Sengun doesn't make the cut.

The west is stacked, the nba needs to just take the best players to all star game and stop the east west non sense, especially since the game is international vs American anyways why vote by conference, Norman Powell and Pascal Siakam making it is a joke.

 

Sengun was playing like not just an all-star, but probably All-NBA the first 20 games of the season. 23, 9 and 7 on 50% / 39% / 74% shooting. Since then, he's given us 19, 9, and 6 on 49% / 14% / 61% shooting. That level of production is more questionable/fringey, especially since his defense has taken a step back.

When the 3P shot and FTs were falling for him early in the season it was really a vision of what he could be if he could do that consistently. He'd truly live up to the whole "Baby Jokic" thing.

I still think his overall numbers are probably deserving of an all-star spot, but the competition is tough this season and voters don't like to give a single team multiple all-stars unless it's undeniable.

In any case, maybe it's for the best, he needs a chance to rest and heal up.

What a joke that Chet and LBJ made over Sengun. Sengun has overall better stats than both of them. Oh well, more reasons to not watch the all-star nonsense.

 

this was my worry. KD being on the team cannibalizes the rockets all stars. if KD was voted in by fans, i think Sengun makes it, but KD took his spot. KD making the all star team does not feel like a Rocket made the team

yes it was. i dont care about no damn kevin durant. I would have waited for Jalen Green and DB. Sengun was on his way to being a perennial all star, voted in every year. Now we got KD who will make it forever like Lebron. Sengun and Amen will be fighting KD for their all star spots.

If I were Sengun, I wouldn't return to the court from today until I'm fully rested. It's not worth risking the health and future of this Rockets fan.

 

Don't worry. He doesn't look like he's there even when he's on the court. Gotta stop blaming 3rd parties for his shortcomings.

I like Sengun, but his stats just hasn't been jumping off the page. In which case, it's more controversy if he did make it. In a NBA fan discourse, Rockets fans are forced to defend the decision to other NBA fans.

Also not sure Lebron should be on the list as there are proabably other NBA guys (not Lebron/Sengun) that should've made it.

 

Congratulations to KD, well deserved. Sengun did not deserve it as his play declined since his injury first happened. Glad he gets to rest and the motivation hopefully gets him back to playing great again.
