FVV and Durant were discussing this on a podcast I believe. These days that's not what most PG do. Definitely not C. White, FVV, or even CP3 to a lesser extent. It would be nice to have one that was an actual shooting threat though.
They do run it. Sometimes. Difficult to do it this game because wemby started to guard amen in the 2nd half. For it to work, sengun needs to be a threat as a shooter which he's not. wemby would just sit back and protect the paint.
I still don't get this… why didn’t Capela play in the 2nd half? The Spurs’ second unit bullied their way to the basket, and there was no resistance from the Rockets. Capela would have provided some resistance.
This team lacks any identity - and the fact that this group wasn’t constructed to fit well together is becoming more and more of an issue. I’ll be curious to see what happens going forward.
I kept yelling for Ime to get Reed off the ball. Reed plays better off the ball when Amen is driving and hitting the open man. Reed and Amen should alway play together, because ball pressure is Reed's kryptonite.

It was constructed to fit well however when your two building blocks Amen and Sengun both cant space then it will be a challenge. Nowadays teams go for out 5 lineups and we got 2 non shooters and Jabroni. If we trade Amen for Kon Kneuppel straight up this team will he WCF bound not because KK is better than Amen, but because KK is one of the best spacers and would open up the floor for everyone including Sengun. Sometimes people get lost in the sauce what do you mean identity? We just need better volume 3 pt shooters we dont need identity. The starting lineup did an ok job shooting from 3 but the bench Okogie 0/3 Reed 1/4 DFS 0/2 Also Capela only played 7 mins even if he got 4 rebs. Why the hell is he in the dog house?
He got mad at Okogie for one simple mistake of not picking up the ball in transition so punished the whole team and fanbase with DFS minutes it looks like.
Sengun could just use it to get closer in and turn it into a deeper post up on Castle. They could run it from midrange while Alpi’s already started backing him down. They gotta keep shooting the midrange and hit some.
This is why I keep saying, whether Reed is ready or not, the team is unlocked when he shoots well, he's basically the team's only hope this year to be a contender. Not because he's a special player, the team just NEEDS shooting in the worst way with Amen and Sengun on the court. Actually I know the team has this really good record when Jabari shoots well too, the team NEEDS shooting, it just sucks our two shooters, Jabari and Reed, either seem to be shooting REALLY well for a night or really terribly for a night. At least Reed's excuse is he's a 2nd year player...
It's mind boggling! He gets the ball up and then just picks up his dribble, laser focuses on KD, and tries to force it to him defender be damned. It's super frustrating. He should be able to initiate something... We've played the fewest games. What are we doing on days off?
Exactly. Tbh a lot of these offensive woes just boils down to opponent plays zone, Rox cant shoot 3s. We dont even have a playmaking problem as most of these attempts are wide open except for KD and Reed who gets guarded like Curry.
I agree this is one area Castle has him beat. Castle takes it on himself despite also being a horrible 3 pt shooter, Amen wants to pass to KD and float to the dunker spot. Problem is everybody ignores him and guards KD even more..
We could have had the right players though, Capela was 2/4 in just 7 mins and Holiday never got played as the bench was bricking every shot. Ime didnt even exhaust every option which is his failing.
