Might as well just use this season for growth and development now with Steveo and Fred out for the season. Our young guys (Alpi, Jabari, Amen, Tari, Reed) can all use an extra year of seasoning anyhow.. would rather not make any stupidass desperate moves (i.e. gutting the team for Giannis).

At the same time, doesn't mean punting this season - just realistically speaking, we aren't gonna be some top 5 contender with these injuries and with the amount of cap those injured players take, so might as well bank on internal growth from the young guys and see what happens. Would be nice if Ime wouldn't run KD into the ground with 40+ min games night after night, however.

Remember when people thought that signing Brook Lopez made no sense?? Those were more joyous times for sure.

I’m as hard on Stone as anyone but he did have some foresight on that one. Sengun is a tough fit as good as he is and Lopez would have been the perfect fit if he could be healthy.

He couldn't bear any weight on the ankle at all. That's always a grade 2 or 3 - never day to day.

A grade 3 sprain would take at about 6 months anyway to recover from without surgery. A grade 2 is bad enough and that's a 2 - 4 month recovery.

His ligaments were completely torn. That's tough for an athlete as big as Adams to come back from without surgery to help reconstruct/repair the ligaments.

If any of you ever played and got injured you know - once you sprain it that bad, it's super easy to sprain it again.

Its better that he had surgery but he's not going to be the same player for a while after he returns. It's going to take another 6 months at least to mentally recover.

This sucks but Adams and Tari being out of the lineup so much has hurt the Rockets during a time when they've needed to build chemistry together. They've probably had more lineup changes than every team in the league.

Well, Brook is also nearing 37 or 38. I mean yeah he can still ball but I would not peg him as a 2nd Center.

    Occasionally sure.

You can start an old man care home with 37 year old Durant, 39 old Jeff Green and 37 year old Brook Lopez.

Welcome Lebron and Curry!!!! Welcome back CP3!

i can already see Rafa making excuses about Steve and Fred being out and that next year we hope to have a full team after our early exit.

No more old people. And especially no more old injury-prone people.

This Stone will never do. If anything, he'll take the inaction approach, standing still when the rest of the Western Conference makes upgrades. We will see the Spurs, Mavs, Lakers, or Clippers shuffle talent, and all of a sudden, we're the 5th-best team in the conference.

I mean, this has been the plan all along, right? We knew 2 years ago that we had some young guys who needed more time. What's wrong with just running it back and giving everyone 2 more years?

The answer is—we sort of know what we have in this group, and it isn't enough to compete at higher levels. Even worse, even with more experience, this particular mix of players will have trouble staying healthy and closing out games against non-playoff teams.

Well he didn't have the foresight on FVV's injury though.

Just sell high, this season is wasted otherwise. No need for a big playoff push, we’re pretenders anyway.

I agree, I'm afraid Stone will do a desperate Westbrook-esque trade that doesn't make us better and makes us lose our picks. I'd be listening to offers for everyone right now.

It's not like Adams won't be a great asset from next season on wherever we deal him.

Rockets actually shot nearly 10 more 3's when Sengun went out

Yet that was part of the disastrous 5-7 games of the "worst 3 point shooting in NBA history"

    That indicates its either
    No talent to create
No star to "draw defenders" away from open shooters.
    No shooting skill, period
No "point guard" to run an offense
Or coaching just can't scheme offense

Or heck, maybe it's all of it.
