This makes me so sad, but I can't say I'm surprised. I hope he recovers well and can be back with the team next season!

 

13 mil is a bargain for a guy like Steven. Lots of teams wanted to sign him last summer before he reupped with the Rockets. His injury sucks, but if he makes a full recovery, there's no way Stone couldn't dump that contract this offseason if he wanted to.

I don't think Clint was a good signing - he is fat and out of shape. He also put them up against the apron. He just doesn't defend well anymore, is not much of a perimeter barrier in the lane. There were other guys out there that made more sense.

We will have to wait and see what happens, Stone is usually cautious so if he makes a deal, he likely will not over pay.

 

I agree with this --- especially on old man Durant.... Udoka is very stubborn, let's see what he does going forward.

I don't think Capela is going to contribute much of anything other than cheap rebounds.

Clint was not signed with cap space. He was a sign-and-trade using trade mechanics in the Durant trade. I doubt there were many other options that the Rockets could add and stay under the apron and be executed in a short amount of time that the Rockets were arranging the Durant trade. It was most likely a decision of do we want to add Capela or do we want to save Tilman some money. With FVV being hurt, Tilman may have preferred to save some money.

Ok, convince me. What moves could we possibly make to contend for the rest of the season? As far as I can see it, there's nothing gamechanging out there.

 

I'm gonna need sources that some team was willing to pay him way more than $13mil last year, and that he gave the Rockets a big hometown discount to become a bargain. And even if that were true, that he stayed in Houston out of the goodness of his heart, wouldn't trading him following this injury just be a big dick move? Who would even come to sign with the Rockets if they just trade away guys who signed for less than their market value?

 

Now we start playing up tempo and become lob city again.

 

Recovery is not an easy road. Physical therapy is work. I wish Adams well. Hang in there.
