As of now, they have enough space between their current figure and the 1Apron to sign a minimum contract.

NBA contracts are prorated, the vet min is $2,296,274 divide that by 82 and it comes to $28,003.34 per game.
Multiply that by 38 games remaining and you get $1,064,127

They have $1,255,588 of space under the apron. That would leave them $191,461 under the 1A after a minimum signing.

Every year all the rumors float by and the Rockets do nothing. Why would this year be different. Don’t get your hopes up,

The most they do is trade for a backup guard and they will likely stand pat.

We need to make a move. We’re in win now mode. Can’t rely on FVV “possibly” coming back. Go out and get a pg.

Let Reed cook...this current roster is not winning it all.
We'll have Jabari's contract to move in the offseason to bring another impact player.
Hate that we're wasting an amazing year KD is producing

I can see this being an exception, as we do have key injuries and a 37-year-old star player giving us a great season. I'd bet Stone prefers to stand pat if it were up to him, but the Fertittas may push him in a win now direction. However, the trades we can make are realistically pretty limited. Don't expect a star player to walk through that door. I won't be surprised if we trade for a backup guard and/or big though

If anything Fertita gonna ask us to cut salary and we going to send DFS or Adams out for nothing.

Depends on how much he values the $$$ from potentially advancing deeper into the playoffs versus a first round exit and cutting salary

Nothing big. I could see us trading for a backup guard but I don't think that will happen.

With DFS (hopefully) improving, I don't think there is much of a need to add a backup C.

Salary cap limitations mean we pick up a guard for depth. Cut be a free agent or someone who gets cut. However, that probably doesn't happen at the deadline, obviously.

Trade deadlines use to be so fun. Old bug eye Stone has got everyone programmed to accept that we’re gonna do nothing and be okay with it.

you already know the answer to this when he let Ariza walk and made plenty pinching trades each deadline to get under the cap and waste our picks.

It's not likely that we will get a player that will make a whole lot of difference. I'm not very anxious about this trade deadline.

I think it’s unlikely, but only because Stone is not good at trades, If we got a starting SG for one of our good picks and a decent backup to Capella, this team has the roster to win it all. Whether Ime can engineer it is another topic.

I don't think we are going to contend for the championship, I'd prefer we watch how the young players grow and make decisions after the season.

As for backup center, it's interesting that Capela's minutes have not increased by much after Adams' injury. And we are doing fine. No more double bigs.

Thank you for showing your work! My expectation is that they will sign a Veteran in the buyout market. Could be anyone - may not be a guard - it could be a Big.

Trade DFS for either Tyus Jones or TJ McConnell and then make them a starter.

I don't really know much about either of these players but their AST/TO ratios look good.

Just please what's his name from NOP. The little PG who acted like a sock jockey on Amen.

I'm thinking that the size of any move(s) made at this deadline boil down to one thing - Are they willing to trade DFS or Tari.

If they are, they could do a deal up to ~$18.3m or so, if not they'll be limited to something like Alvarado's $4.5m and a buy out addition to fill the last mandatory roster spot.

They may do nothing .... just laying out the possibilities.
