Yeah, I'll sum it up for you- no D in the 4th. But like I said, this team will get it together eventually-have some faith.

I meant marginal playoff team meaning we probably have to sweat it out the last few games just to get in or choke it away (like tonight) and goto the lottery.

First of all, Yao was passing to open shooters. Don't pin this on him. Second, the lack of defense on pick 'n rolls means you call time out and make an adjustment. I didn't see ANY adjustments. Kurt Thomas was practically having a shootaround all by himself. An the Rockets did NOTHING to adjust.

Well said! That last games showed you why JVG is not the right coach. He's out coached. I can't believe he didn't make any right adjustments to guard Kurt who scored all of his points wide open.

Kenny and Charles have basically called out JVG as having an inferior gameplan.

To compound matters, the TNT boys are having a Steve Francis lovefest right now.

Both of our star choked at the end...

T-Mac leave too much time on the clock and miss a runner in the lane.

Yao was in the paint than decided to pass which results in a turn over.

I dunno, for some reason I feel we're cursed.....by someone ion the team.

I think he quit on the Knicks when they were 4-6 in 2001. Is there going to be deja vu?

I think JVG told YAO to pass out in 4 quarter

The Knicks were jumping the pass out of the low post in the end of the game. far too predictable of a play, and since JJ Wasn't hitting jack, not that effective anyway.

I don't know why but 2 players from last year are So Important to our defensive doctrine that JVG employs -that he didn't praise enough-

Cat and Cato really made our defense, In you Face and smothering.

They had the energy in the first all the way to the last quarter to keep the defensive tanacity that we sorely lack.

We are really missing these two players more than anything in the Tmac trade.

Howard, Lue, ward all got to go, Bandaids need to to be taken out of an open sore eventually, the sooner the better for me.

    1. absolutely right. JVG cannot get the best out of his players. Pike is doing well with Bulls but had no confidence playing for JVG last year.

    2. Yao was elbowed on his back every time at the end but refs didn't call a single foul. Besides, he was forced to get back earlier than usual in the 4th. JVG should never have rest both Tmac and Yao at the same time at the begining of 4th.

    3. Tmac needs to take fewer jumpers and try to get to the FT line more often.

    4. Our PnR defense sucks. Also, what is it with playing so much help defense when our team is old and cannot get back to position when opponents pass out DT? Hardway made 2 3's because JJ left to DT Marbury and Thomas got tons of open look. That is just stupid. You do NOT leave the hot shooters open.

this is strictly a venting post...I mean I don't think I've even posted one thing on this bbs before. But....right now the Rockets @#$@# suck and Yao is playing like an idiot, weakling....Yao mania...screw that.

And look at the Magic roll too.

Whew.....I hope this team gets it together soon.

    end vent.

yes I realize a lot of what I said is not based on logic....just pissed off right now.

Yeah, this has been my biggest gripe with Van Gundy this year. I know he wants to manage Yao's minute systematically, but just screw it and bring Yao in when the other teams making a big run. Sheeshh.

I was worried all night even when we were leading because I was expecting another collapse but I thought we just might pull through with 2.9 seconds left. We have no fire in this team. Everybody has to take responsibility for losing but Yao and T-Mac are our main players and they didn't take control which is the saddest thing of all.
Our defense is just horrible right now which is making things worse.
JVG needs to motivate the guys. I expect gradual improvement with time but we are in for a rough ride.
