Nobody has ever played that poorly in a playoff game, so no.

You don't get it, we've gotta keep pretending he's a good QB for the culture.... or whatever. The reality of how he's actually performing is completely irrelevant.

Plus Darnold has never been scared of the pass rush.

    He's not

He's a mental weakling who's one of the most unselfaware people to ever play QB in the NFL. He actually thought he played well against the Steelers.

The reason Baker's play fell off was that he was playing with an injured shoulder.

C'mon man.... he literally saw ghosts (against the Pats!).... don't try to change history now to prove a point

This speaks to how mediocre that the Texans franchise has been - and the quote just proves the idea that the organization is content just getting to the playoffs and having the stands full.

Translation - "I am not the problem. I gave the players and coaches the tools to win every single game in 2025-2026. I am a passive aggressive person, so you can decide how much is because of the coaches and how much of it is that the players did not do as well as they should have." - Caserio

This is what Caserio says to the media, imagine what he says to Cal when Hannah isn't around.

Four Interceptions today is like five 15 years ago and six 25 years or more ago. There are so few interceptions thrown these days compared to pre-2000.
Stroud threw all of his in the first half and then played extremely conservatively in the second half.
Lawrence ended up scoring over 30 in that game and won. Russell Wilson won that game. One of Luck's was a last drive desperation heave that meant nothing.

Two of Gannons were in the last 2 minutes of the game when it was out of reach. Two of Palmer's were in the last five minutes when the game was over. Roethlisberger still scored 37 points.

Stroud's game was closest to Hoyer or Delhomme on that list who both looked completely overmatched and as though they shouldn't have even been in the game playing. Those games were basically the last time either of those guys played an important game in the NFL. Hoyer had a 1-14 record after that and Delhomme 6-9.

Don’t overlook the fact that Darnold is no longer on the Jets. Can CJ be “fixed”? Maybe, but I will place a heavy bet that it won’t happen here. Unfortunately he most likely will not be who he was his rookie season ever again for this organization. You can go down the list of QBs cited in this thread for examples why.

Should the Texans go after pro bowl quarterback Shedeur Sanders?

Like what's wrong with CJ's the QB coaches fault.

I think Aaron Wilson inferred there will be coaching changes. But not any of the coordinators. I’m guessing Jerrod is as good as gone and his ‘interviews’ were Nick and Demeco reaching out and calling in some coaching favors to get him some interviews. Let him Save face before he gets rightfully canned.

Of the 25 worst passer ratings past 40 years (min 30 pass attempts)

    Younger QB's, 4th year & less (6 total):
    - Rookie Joe Flacco later won the Super Bowl
    - 4th year Trent Dilfer later won the Super Bowl
    - 3rd year Andrew Luck came back decent

    Notable Vet QB's
    - Peyton Manning broke through with SB's
    - John Elway finally got SB's
    - Brad Johnson later won the SB
    - 3rd year* Jim Kelly entered the league a vet, later played 4 straight SB's

Note: Surprisingly, 75% of that list is veteran QB's. Of the 6 younger QB's, 3 of them were backups. Which can mean.. younger QB's generally dont even get in position to stink it up that bad. This is kind of a rare present.

Remove 4 of the backups and Andrew Luck injury retirement, that leaves 2 QB's. Flacco winning the Super Bowl with the same team (good sign for CJ). And Dilfer winning with another team. But the Bucs team Dilfer LEFT ended up winning 5 years later. A sign the Texans can just hang on with someone else or CJ. Meaning, the Texans really do make things rarified weird lol
