Virginia Gov Spanberger first Exec Order: Stop cooperating with ICE

That's a start. ICE has entered homes without valid warrants, refused to abide by legal warrants to search the area where they murdered the man who tried to help the woman they assaulted. They aren't even investigated for what they did. It makes perfect sense to not cooperate with them.

 

Seems pretty reasonable given that ice is on a spree of murdering civilians, lying about it, and corrupting evidence afterwards.

Federalism. We in Texas have similar gun laws. If we ever get a federal government that passes overburdensome laws (like assault weapons bans during the Clinton and Bush years), our state law enforcement are not allowed to cooperate in assisting federal law enforcement. The attempt to commandeer state resources for federal purposes is not something a states' rights advocate supports, no matter the president.

I believe in constitutionally guaranteed states' rights, and not just when a Democrat is in the White House. If it's a federal crime that feds want to enforce with extreme vigilance, whether it be immigration, guns, weed, gambling whatever, then the feds are allowed to invade any state and do it. But the Constitution allows states to not cooperate if they disagree with federal law, hence no commandeering of state resources. That's the federalism our founders wanted.

I'm for deporting all illegals. I do not support forcing a violation of Virginia state sovereignty. If you hold team over constitutional principles, then don't be surprised when the Dems force the same on Texas over some laws that we don't like.
