I definitely wasn't lamenting that. I was lamenting the end of the 80s and the end of the endless arena rock touring acts where I collected all my ticket stubs from attending. It was a great time for concerts.
Arena Rock will never die...aren't REO Speedwagon, KISS, Journey, Foreigner, still hobbling on stage on crutches along with the fans? Boston is awesome and doesn't count. That's the "Los Angeles River"
1980s was the coolest. No cell phones, you had to talk to people. No social media making small groups feel there are a lot of them. Dance clubs, yup, we actually danced with girls X was legal for a while, the real MDMA stuff. Just so few distractions, and less noise....... Oh, and we didn't have a ****ing racist nazi like leader in the White House. DD
LMAO I saw your post and knew it was coming. Your are mentally ill man. You can't even make a simple post in a thread about the 90/s with out bringing up the big bad orange man. It's pathetic and sad how deranged you are.
This thread is comparing the 1900s, it is relevant. You have the power to ignore..use it. I miss the 80s....even that terrible Trickle down President was miles better.... DD
I’m always grossed out by the 80s just seems like a raunchy and weird period. All the books I used in school that were from the 80s also had this gross smell to them. grew up in the 90s so obviously biased towards that
Oh look... we have a fancy boy with his Foley's. My happy ass was shopping here to get my fancy pants :
But the Music in the 80s was so great, we had the end of the 70s Rock era with Queen etc.....and others, and we had New Wave - just some amazing stuff going on. The lack of a cell phone or pager for that matter made life easier, we weren't reading whether some moron on the web liked our posts etc....or hated them....didn't give a ****, we just talked to our friends, drove around in our cars, chased girls, drank bad beer, and cheered for Earl Campbell, Bum Phillips and the Oilers in football - We got Hakeem in the 80s with Ralph, and Mike Scott and Terry Puhl on the Astros. Life was great, Astroworld was still fun, dance clubs like the Roxy on Westheimer, and Numbers 2 and Riches.....were going nuts - worked at Pappas Seafood house making money and paying for college at SWTSU. Yep, the 80s were the best. DD
