Alpi used to claim he loved the tough love. I think Ime is starting to wear thin on a lot of the guys, because of his inconsistent treatment of players and his inattention to obvious fixable problems. Bringing on an offensive player like Durant, who is not known for pulling punches, may also be leading some guys to question Ime’s wisdom. Only those in the locker room really know.

he is a smart guy and wants success. He sees that they are not on the path to success right now and probably blames ime like most of us here.

He’s probably mad at himself a bit as well and frustrated with the injury. It is so obvious he is hurt. He barely jumps. Is there someone that we can bring up from the g-league to spell Capella for a couple of weeks while Sengun convalesces?

makes sense. when one is pain, and cannot perform normally, frustration is normal.

I genuinely also think Alpi is struggling to be the Robin to KD's Batman (as he sees himself as more of the Batman.) I don't think it's that coincidental that his energy seems to have dropped around the time there was reports that the team had to address the pecking order/hierarchy (especially with the clutch shots and him taking them over KD.) I'm sure he'll adjust as his health improves and the chemistry builds.

I think he was talking to amen not ime. he was the one who got stuck behind the moving screen. and right after sengun, you can see Amen on the camera in the direction Sengun is looking at. He makes a gesture with his hands, not understanding why Sengun was so upset. Can't read lips but the last part looked in english.

There really shouldn’t be a prescribed hierarchy or pecking order. It should be a game to game and matchup to matchup decision. We have lots of guys that can take over a game at certain times. Our coach needs to adjust to the personnel and learn to better manage his rotations. Can he do that?

All the haters are hilarious lol, getting your panties in bunch over Alpi playing injured for the team you guys claim to be be fans of.

Okay, so Alpi ain't played to his all-NBA standard since coming back early from ankle injury because the Rockets sucked and now Adams is out. So what? Let's put this in context. Rockets record when he was injured was 1-3 losing to Dallas and Portland x2. He rushed back and because the team sucked without him. They were literally rudderless now that other teams had figured out how to shut the rest of the players down, unlike his first injury. We were literally at risk of dropping to the play-in after just four games without him. Now, with a hobbled Alpi playing through injury for the team, the Rockets have a 5-3 record with wins against the Wolves, Spurs and the Pistons.

Alpi decides to sacrifice his body and play injured (has said as much himself) because the Rockets badly need his playmaking. Then, he leads the team to a winning record yet again, but you ingrates decide to rag on him for averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1 block per game on 34 minutes a game while shooting 50% from the field since he came back. It seems having all-star caliber player carrying our team is not enough despite the fact he has led us back to 4th in the standings and very much within striking range of the 2nd seed. Yet, all you pathetic losers whine and whine that he has sucked.

The truth is this team doesn't have a chance without him. He leads the teams in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. He does that, and still is second in points scored after KD. His playmaking is crucial for opening things for the rest of the team to succeed. Not long ago ya'll said he needed to take a backseat for other players to shine. Now, he has, and all you are crucifying him for his diminished play. Ya'll are the saddest bunch so-called fans I've ever seen.

How about ya'll go follow your boy Jalen to the Phoenix Suns board? I hear that team is doing well and that we should bring him back home. Perhaps, it's better if you make a new home with him over there. If you want other losers to follow, I hear the Wizards still have Cam Whitmore on their roster and KPJ is Milwaukee, you can be fair-weathered fans over there as well you know.

Not everyone is Lebron that rarely gets injured. That being said, Alpi is right around the average for NBA players which is missing 1 out of 5 games. Unlike other players, he is not actually injury prone, at least so far.

I agree completely, I'm just going by that being reported as actually happening. It was right after the period of lots of memes of KD looking pissed at the end of the game when the ball's not in his hands. Ime doesn't do adjustments beyond "work harder, turn defense into offense" though so it is what it is.

Are we really on an injury prone narrative? Have people seen Steve-O and Tari? The very fact that the man's suiting up and playing hurt should tell people all they need to know there. (Though I do genuinely hope he's getting the right advice and not risking exacerbating the issues by playing through them - I'm not that confident in our medical staff...)

    Even AI is worried:

    Recent Injury Log (2024-2026):
    • Jan 2026: Right Ankle Injury
    • Dec 2025: Illness
    • Mar 2025 & Feb 2025: Back Injuries
    • Jan 2025: Calf Injury
    • Dec 2024: Knee Injury
    • Mar 2024: Right Ankle/Knee Injury (Season-ending)
    Summary:
Şengün's history shows vulnerability, especially in his right lower leg, with recurring ankle issues being the most prominent concern, alongside other strains and minor injuries.

Time will tell and no one can predict the future. However, as of right now, by the numbers, Alpi has not missed any more games than the average NBA player. Do we want him to play every single game? Absolutely, but so far, he has literally missed the average number of games.

I mean, come on, is that really the hill you want to die on? An average missed number of games and all-star numbers while leading the team to the 4th seed in the West?

Yeah, the Sengun hate is weird. Even weirder is the preference of Jalen Green over him.

I mean, he has his warts. And you might not like the dude. But liking has nothing to do with how important he is to the team. I don't like Durant the dude. But I understand he improves our offense a lot replacing Jalen and Dillon.
