I’m as big a reed supporter as anyone here, that doesn’t mean his actual rookie season didn’t count. It’s an objective fact, not an opinion. He isn’t a rookie (insane this needs to be said).

I like Reed too so I hate having to highlight the bad aspects but the excuses are annoying at this point.

Ime has his favorites. Everyone gets scored on his basketball, it happens. But Reed is the only one that gets benched because of it. Fred was a horrible defender and Ime never benched him. He also shot 30% from the floor, negative on both ends. I don’t understand Ime’s logic, he moves the goalpost too much. He’s trying to gaslight Reed into complaining to the media(like cam) then he’ll used that as an excuse to trade him for nothing. Ime needs to be an assistant coach somewhere else, he sucks at being a head coach.
What a stupid argument. Who cares? Everybody knows he’s not a rookie, but the guy was just making a point about this being his first season to get significant playing time. By any objective measure, Reed has improved dramatically this year. Is he the instant superstar and savior that some are being hyperbolic about, no. Part of the joy of watching the Rockets the last 4 years has been watching the growth of some of these young players. They all have had their ups and downs. One thing I think is evident is that we are not as far along as a contender as we thought we were. The other thing that is obvious, to me anyway, is that the FVV and Ime extensions were pre-mature and maybe the trade for another vet star could’ve waited. The 2nd seed last year was probably fool’s gold. It’s spilled milk now and I’m encouraged about the last couple of games. Maybe Adams injury was a wake up call for Ime and the team gels by playoff time. Stone should make a trade for a backup guard and center if possible and that will give us a better chance of getting out of the first round. Please no panic trades for aging vets.
