Hence, why Stone trades all his 2nd rounders. When it comes to drafts, Stone usually goes with the consensus...Sengun being his riskiest pick because he traded a couple first rounders for him. Amen, Sheppard, Jabari and Green were all picked where they were projected.
Rockets In: - Deni Avdija - Donovan Clingan - Jrue Holiday Rockets Out: - Alperen Sengun - Tari Eason - Dorian Finney Smith
Sengun is a better foundational piece for them than Deni and is a (probably) 2x All Star. Deni is a bucket getter but this core they have right now is lacking. As you can see in the standings. Deni works better for us but it does crowd our starting lineup. Truthfully I'm more interested in Clingan and Holiday than Deni if I'm keeping it a buck. Portland's win totals go up with this trade.
There is no chance in hell they would trade deni. He makes 13 and 12 mil the next 2 seasons, easily the best value in the league. He’s also been better than sengun this season. Obviously i would do this trade in a heartbeat but it’s one of those completely absurd one sided trades where you have to turn off trade rejection in madden.
let me tell u something about Deni and Portland. Every evening when the sun (or lack there of) goes down here in Portland, families come together and sacrifice livestock, sometimes young children, at the alter of Deni. He is literally worshiped here. I don’t see him being moved. But pretty good trade proposal though.
Not commenting on an specific trade, but Portland is not a contender. Deni's contract value matters more for teams in which they have a bunch of talent and a hard time to fit it together. Portland should be trying to trade Deni for a ton of value as they aren't going to take advantage of his contract being great unless they trade him.
Draft pick or young player that Bird rights matter. I don't see him as a fit for the Rockets, but Rockets could easily get him if they wanted.
Dorian Finney-Smith + 1 first round pick (Nets?) to Pelicans for Jose Alvarado & Saddiq Bey. Bey feels like an Ime player but mostly this is about Jose Alvarado who can be our poor man's Fred VanVleet.
Or Sengun, or JSJ or Tari or Reed. Good contracts only matter if they allow a team to bring in talent or are good enough to win as is. Lilliard, Holiday, and Grant contracts basically negate Portland's ability to bring in talent via cap space, exceptions even with Deni being cheap. Portland can be happy with Deni's contract, but they aren't good enough as is, and except through draft, really can't add much unless he, Toumani, or Clingan are traded. All that value Deni's contract has basically goes up in smoke as soon as his next contract happens. Portland is burning through it for nothing unless they think he's the centerpiece which I doubt. Unless Giannis is traded, I think Portland is headed to the treadmill of mediocrity.
Lol you clearly don’t have an understanding of the salary cap. We wouldn’t even be able to field a team there is no way you make this happen.
Spurs arent trading Harper for Deni lol. You are over valuing him a lot. Sengun on his own is worth Deni. I can see why Portland has been a loser franchise most of its existence. Cleveland West.
I want Andrew Wiggins. Like his fit with Sengun, KD, and Amen. Good SGA defender, 40% from 3, comfortable with the ball. Has a player option for 30 mil this summer and if he wanted out Miami would be in a bad negotiating spot with the risk of losing him for nothing. Miami has some young forward depth and may not want to pay up. He’s 30 years old right now but I think his game ages well and his next contract will be a good one, age 31-36, not worried about it. If he wanted Houston I’d offer up a starting job and 30 mil per on extension. Jabari or Fred would be the best matching salary. Probably more of an offseason move than a deadline deal.
Herb Jones? Decent contract... underperformed for an abysmal Pelicans for the last two seasons.... buy low, change of scenery guy?
