Udoka needs to be investigated or fired for not playing Reed.

If I wanted Reed to finish the game, I would have started Reed in the 3rd quarter, sat him late in the 3rd, put him back in at around 8:00 in the 4th.

But who would have thunk we'd be playing OT?

 

That is a fair point, but he did have so much time to rest, and he was the guy making **** happen before that.

 

The word yanked applies here because he was instrumental in putting the team in a position to even get into overtime in the first place and then he never saw the court in overtime. Thus, he was yanked.

 

I am just waiting for DuBose to ask Ime why he hates Reed, and Ime acting offended and claiming that he brings Reed his homemade banana pudding.

 

Maybe he's pulling a Chauncy Billups.

 

I think he's trying tough love to Coach Reed into playing better defense. The problem is that I don't think it's from a lack of effort, Reed just has problems that need to be schemed for. If Ime can't figure that out, and Reed can't fix his defensive issues, I guess that's probably why he keeps getting pulled. Definitely a disconnect there, but I doubt that it's personal.

 

Hearing a couple reports saying Rockets shopping Reed for a Dennis Schroder type asset. Udoka hated Cam’s defense and really hates Reed’s defense. Okogie gets the critical minutes for that reason.

 

Did you use that word? Or are you rationalizing use of yanked after 15 straight minutes?

fwiw, neither person who said he was yanked is responding anymore, most likely bc they said that thinking he got pulled in the 4th. Glad we cleared this up.

and btw, Eason nailed 2 threes in clutch time that were “instrumental in putting the team in a position to even get into overtime in the first place.” He’s the one who played over Reed. Oh well.

vs Pistons, Reed played 12 minutes straight again, this time, first half. And closed the 4th. My Ime hate is trending down.

 

More stats, more $$$, more problems

 

Ime trusted Reed despite him going 1-7 from 3. Reed hit some big shots. It’s a good sign of things to come and I hope he gets more and more minutes, but the amount of glossing this guy gets is Jalenesque or Linsanity. The same guys that were screaming to let Jalen earn his minutes want to award Reed the franchise title after a handful of good quarters. You do realize that DD idolizes the guy. That alone should give you a little pause. We sure need him to consistently knock down open 3’s to have any kind of shot this year. I’m the last one to defend Ime, but man you guys are laying it on a little thick with the Ime is sabotaging Reed on purpose or Ime hates Reed.

 

Tilman's pockets are only so deep. If Reed averages 20ppg he'll want a payday that matches. Keep his usage low then unleash him after he signs the extension.

The problem is they didn't keep their thumb on Jabari and "Jabari unleashed" is New Coke. Not exactly better. Shades of Daryl's master plan with Ariza, first sleeper "superstar" before James redeemed him. Jabari ain't it but now we're stuck with it. Maybe we'll appreciate Tari and Reeds contracts in a couple of years if they come to fruition.
