Who do you see as being the best next year? 1. San Antonio - [start suffering from Jazz disease. . .best record but still no championships.] 2. Lakers 3. Dallas 4. Utah 5. Houston [SAC w/ webber] 6. Phoenix 7. Timberwolves 8. Denver [No Webber in Sac] East 1. Milwaukee 2. Orlando [w/ or w/o davis] 3. Philidelphia 4. Charlotte 5. New York 6. Toronto [w/ Davis - w/o davis maybe 8] 7. Miami 8. Indiana This of course depends on Where Webber/Davis goes as well as drafts. Rocket River ------------------
I'm thinking if the Lakers continue to play like they have this year, they're going to be knocking on a single-digit-loss record. Unless injuries or something else like Shaq retiring messes them up, it won't matter... they will be the NBA's best. And from the looks of it the best by a long shot. ------------------ "Now it is more clear that it doesn't make sense." -- HeyPeeism at its convoluted best.
I doubt the Lakers will play like this during the regular season, they'll probably have stretches where they try to coast. ------------------
The zone will kill Utah, and slightly injure the Lakers. Assuming the Rockets get Webber: 1.Lakers 2.Mavs (worse record than Portland, but won Midwest) 3.Blazers 4.Rockets 5.Spurs 6.Suns 7.Sonics 8.teamofevil Webber leaves west: 1.Lakers 2.Mavs 3.Blazers 4.Spurs 5.Rockets 6.Suns 7.Sonics 8.teamofevil Kings keep Webber (sound of laughter in background) 1.Lakers 2.Mavs 3.Blazers 4.Kings 5.Spurs 6.Suns 7.Rockets 8.Sonics The zone will murder the teamofevil, and hold the Lakers to 59 wins. ------------------ Protrolls.com! ZRB, Are you assuming that the Spurs trade Duncan for a couple of second round picks or what? ------------------ What's a Nubian?
No, I'm assuming that the Spurs are a team of crap, and that their playoff smashing will criple them mentally and screw them over for next season. I don't expect these Spurs to ever contend again. ------------------ Protrolls.com! RITQAIOCLHTPFOTFWBPTD
I don't know if you can compare the Spurs to the Jazz because they actually have a championship. I think this year's debacle will put MORE of an emphasis on the Spurs to win. And with David Robinson a FA, I think the Spurs will go all out to improve their team. It's to early to make playoff predictions though. ------------------ "I'm not here to protect my reputation, I'm here to make my reputation! West (Rockets w/Webber) 1) Spurs 2) Lakers 3) Mavs 4) Rockets 5) Blazers 6) Suns 7) Jazz 8) Timberwolves West (Rockets w/o Webber) 1) Spurs 2) Lakers 3) Mavs 4) Blazers 5) Kings 6) Suns 7) Jazz 8) Rockets ------------------
Stockton and Malone have to die sometime dont they? We've been saying that for 3 years . ------------------
West 1 LA Lakers 2 Dallas 3 San Antonio 4 Utah 5 Houston 6 Sacramento (with or without Webber) 7 Minnesota 8 LA Clippers Bye bye Portland; Phoenix will get swept down with injuries and the cancerous Penny Hardaway. East 1 Orlando 2 Milwaukee 3 Philadelphia 4 Charlotte 5 Indiana 6 Miami 7 New York 8 Boston ------------------
I really think its damn near impossible with the talent that Portland has for them to not even make the playoffs. My View The Wild West If Webber Resigns With Sac 1. Lakers 2. Spurs 3. Kings (W/Webber) 4. Portland 5. Mavs 6. Rocks 7. Jazz 8. Suns If Webber and Dream Sign With Rocks 1. Lakers 2. Rockets 3. Spurs 4. Portland 5. Mavs 6. Jazz 7. Kings 8. Suns If Webber Goes East 1. Lakers 2. Spurs 3. Portland 4. Mavs 5. Rocks 6. Jazz 7. Suns 8. Timberwolves East Who Cares..... Playing for Second Place Anyway... ------------------
I'm not a Spurs fan, but did everyone writing off San Antonio forget about the zone? Teams will double and triple team Duncan, he'll kick it out, they'll swing it around, and hit a three. That's all most of their guys can do anyway (Ferry, Kerr, Porter). They'll be the one or two seed in the west. ------------------ the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
East: 1. Phi - Not going anywhere 2. Mil - Will give Phi a race for best East record 3. Mia - With or without Zo 4. Orl - Hype will get you #4 but no further 5. Cha - Underappreciated 6. NYK - Haha 7. Tor - Running in place 8. Bos - Ind still screwing up; Boston will improve w/o Pitino West: 1. LAL - Slight regular season edge 2. SAS - As always, strong in the regular season 3. Dal - Coming on fast; threat in regular season and playoffs 4. Pho - Marion as team leader 5. Uta - Will stay respectable while trying to rebuild 6. Sac - Respectable but sinking 7. Hou - Another step forward 8. Min - Running in place Portland - still wondering what happened. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
I think the Lakers will be the #2 seed behind the Spurs if SA gets rid of Greg Popozit and gets a real coach. That guy may be the worst coach in the NBA. Hopefully, the Rockets can at least get in the playoffs next year as a low seed. ------------------ Get Cato out of there...
If we make the right moves, we should be #3 to #6 in the West. p.s. remeber i said we would be #9 last yr. so hoping I'm right again. ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Guns kill squirrels than REDRUM to fools across the nation?
People overrate Portland's talent. I honestly feel aside from Wallace, they're just an average team. Smitty still has some game, but is hardly the player he once was. Stoudamire is an average point guard if you don't look at his contract. Pippen is a non-factor as usual. Sabonis is the walking wounded. The only players I like on that team are Wallace, Davis, and Bonzi. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Portland doesn't make the playoffs next year. ------------------
Pop runs the whole Spurs operation. He is not going to fire himself. The only guy who could fire Pop is the owner, and that is not likely since the Spurs have been a pretty successful team. ------------------
