i total forgot about this show. the weird break kinda made me lose appetite. similar to what game of hunger did for s2.

these breaks are really stupid. i’d rather do homework than watch an unfinished season

i feel like the invincible war should have been longer. (i havent read the comics) should have been a couple of episodes.

Probably means what's coming next is going to be crazy

Staying at a buddy’s for a couple of days in Vegas and we watched the final episode of S3. Art/quality has improved but it still has that pacing issue where there’s a lot of dead space, almost like a soap opera.

Still, it’s enough to get me to pick up s2-3 and ‘watch’ while I’m working.

I tried binge reading the comics awhile back and there were more soap opera bits and dead space that made me drop it before the midway point of S3.

Believe it or not, they worked a lot on pacing and continuity with the source. Haven't had gripes or nitpicks this season but for me, it's progress from past seasons where they try more to make the dead space more character development focused.

It may be Kirkman’s writing. Iirc pacing was an issue in TWD too. But it’s still a great comic, except issue 100.

it was a good last couple episodes. I still think invincible war should have been more than 1 episode. I didnt feel the weight of the whole earth being taken over by all those invincibles

I liked season 3 more than season 2. I really never got into comic books or superheroes but Invincible feels like what I imagine a great comic book series feels like with interesting and creatives stories/characters/villains/concepts that actual have stakes.

Definitely agree about the pacing, felt like the Invincible War and Conquest arc deserved 4 episodes total.

The Brutality of Invincible and The Boys is the feature for me
The idea that fights are not just punches and flying
the brutal bone breaks and gut punches

This season was way more watchable than the first two. It felt more focused on Mark and Earth rather than ping ponging between different threads like Omniman or the Guardians. Also there were less random plot teasers. And each episode felt like it concluded well within the hour.

Did not like the deus ex machina in the last episode, though. Felt like it cheapened how overwhelming Conquest was.

    Being a Gen Xer . . . . where we would get 22 Episodes and only had to wait a summer for the next 22 . . . .
This wait a year sometimes more for 10 more episodes is maddening

That is a permanent development for all shows now. The annual 22 is dead. In its place, we get over 10x as many shows that are 6-10 episodes each.

I prefer the way it is now. There is so much TV to watch, I miss out on a lot of good stuff. To nearly everyone, >99% of TV shows are trash, but the remaining 1% should be more than enough volume for any one person. I also strongly dislike the repetitive formulaic junk that is on network TV now. Streaming has opened up new waves of creativity in a variety of genres, a few of which I like. Some shows are just one season, which is often fantastic.

The long wait between seasons is definitely a negative, but the positives outweigh it IMO.

wasn't it a split between 13 & 26 episode seasons for cartoons before the late 90s? if they survived being cancelled they would get 52 episodes for syndication then the series would be over.

True. The thing is that some of them have a long wait for no d*mn reason . . .
    I guess I would be good on a year. . . . .. but 2 and 3 is just stupid
An animation maybe. . . . other wise no
