The US has 3 separate but equal branches of the federal government. In theory, the 3 branches provide checks and balances on each other. In theory ... Congress and the federal courts are telling the Executive branch (DoJ ad FBI) to release the Epstein files. Trumps response: Make me. Obama nominates a SCOTUS justice. Congress response: Make me ... have an up or down vote. Trump issues tariffs in an unconstitutional way. SCOTUS replies: Make me ... we will hear the case and make a decision sometime in the distant future. Each of the three branches lacks the teeth to enforce checks and balances. The system is broke now. The Rs should not be surprised if the Ds behave as badly as the Rs currently are, the next time the Ds get control on one of the 3 branches.
Its a continuous partisan spectacle. Who suffers? The American people for political posturing. Whats funny is the mental gymnastics the right and left does to blame the other, and never claim responsibility for their side doing the exact same thing.
