To me, the $64,000 question is, how did Stroud go from greatness to complete trash? Stroud was a Heisman finalist in his two years starting at Ohio State and followed that up with a record-breaking rookie year in which he was named ALL-PRO. Two years later he's complete trash. How did that happen?
Incredible. CJ has essentially been on his own in terms of development. Maybe they should cut CJ and then he can go to a team that will develop him back into being an all-pro QB while Houston management f*cks up more young, promising, QB's.
I dont blame Demeco. I think Demeco is an excellent player's coach and a great defensive mind. I DO blame Nick Caserio. Nick has failed to bring in a good OC and QB coach to develop CJ and he has failed repeatedly in drafting offensive linemen. Or is the OL coach also garbage?
I get what you’re saying, but just for clarification, CJ was never an all-pro. He did make a pro bowl
I know it’s Reddit and old but here is what Buckeye fans said about him 3yrs+ ago. Some choice bits. "Elite arm talent. The dude can put a ball anywhere he wants to on a field. Sub par at almost everything else. Refuses to run when yards are there and shows no real heart when things get tough. If an NFL coach can unlock something in him that OSU couldn’t then he could be a great NFL qb but if not then he’s going to be a bust. I’m happy to move on from him." "He’s a great QB. That being said, I see a lot of stupid mistakes he makes and so far he hasn’t been able to step up when the pressure’s on. If I was an NFL GM, I wouldn’t take him personally before 15 and I think if he doesn’t dramatically improve in those situations, by 2026, he’ll have had his last NFL starting gig. I think he would be wise to come back another year and refine his craft, I think it would make a 10 year difference NFL career wise." "I realize the NW game was tough conditions but if he was such a great passer, he would have been able to adjust. Did they not practice the wind at all before the game. If it’s beautiful weather and the O line blocks their ass off, then yes, he can sling it. Give him some pressure or tough circumstances and he folds like bad poker hand" "You can tell when hes not “on” it gets to him then the forced passes start into double and triple coverage" "People are gonna downvote…. He seems to be a preacher that happens to play football"
With all the negativity everywhere this week about Cj i thought it was actually pretty cool he made the Goats reaction list to the best throws of this season .
This guy nailed it. CJ cannot handle any type of adversity. Cant win with a QB that folds when things arnt perfect. Bobby Slowik is laughing his ass off somewhere.
Stuff that started showing up at the start of his 2nd year, after defenses started learning his tendencies and the team's weaknesses.
Dam, that is spot on what he is now, superior arm talent but makes to many mistakes.....this quote makes me go hmmmmm, that is exactly what we have experienced in year 2&3. IMO there going to ride this out and pick up the 5th year option next off season. I want him to do well but to do that we have to fix the O Line, get a bell cow RB and keep coaching him up. I hope we sing a different tune next off season BUT if what there saying about him 3 YEARS ago is still apparent today then who knows. "If it’s beautiful weather and the O line blocks their ass off, then yes, he can sling it. Give him some pressure or tough circumstances and he folds like bad poker hand"
This is wildly accurate and still applies. His poor and mopey body language when he has to face adversity especially. He is a frontrunner who has zero in-game leadership ability.
Caserio was supposed to improve the OL after the 24' season and the first thing he did was trade our best OL and one of the best LT in the league, Laremy Tunsil. Caserio, Ryans, Slowick, Caley, and Johnson all get an "F" for their catastrophic failures to develop CJ and the Texan's offense. CJ was LIGHTS-OUT his rookie year and two years later he's TRASH. Has that happened to other quarterbacks? Is this unprecedented?
1st undiagnosed concussion Vikings game - Concussion Jets game - want to say another undiagnosed Ravens game …. I think CJ is on concussion number 7-8 and it’s effecting him in multi levels
