Iirc Mac got benched after Josh McDaniel left and the hoodie installed pinball wizard DC Matt Patricia as offensive coordinator. Then he brought in BoB but by then Patricia and the Hoodies damage was done.
[Russini] The Dolphins have requested to interview Texans QBs coach Jerrod Johnson for their offensive coordinator role, per source.
people put too much stock in what is said at press conferences there is little upside to candor, other than perhaps some momentary fan goodwill (which disappears if there aren't results on the field)

It would be hard for any QB to be as bad as CJ was the last 4 games of last season. So yes, Mac would be an upgrade. Of course almost any QB would be an upgrade. You're on board with continuing to waste seasons?
IMO a change of scenery and a different scheme with a "QB" whisperer would be best for him personally. With the amount of $$ this D is going to command, I don't see how we can pay a FRANCHISE QB the going rate ($50+ Million) and still have any quality pieces on offense, but some teams seem to do it. Some QB`s have that Dawg personality like Mahomes or Allen and they should get paid, but just to pay it to the next QB whose "up next" is ridiculous. Look at the Jags, Trevor L was never worth that contract, but Cohen seems to have unlocked something in him and he is better, but IMO still not worth the contract. With that said, I have kind of come to the realization that DeMeco will not move on from him so we would get next year and then pick up his 5th year option.
Not exactly breaking news. I don't expect Chubb or Mixon back next year. I don't expect a splashy RB free agent acquisition either. More likely the Texans draft a RB on day 2 this year.
Yep... if you look at some of the top RB performances this year and the contracts they were on, logic says (1) cheap draft pick or (2) journeyman looking to get paid or (3) super high-end RB (who probably was already with you).
Ideally he'd go to a team like the Rams and sit for a year behind Stafford get his mind right and then take over the next year. LA has 2 full years to evaluate him before having to negotiate a new contract. CJ gets back home and in a great environment to recoup his value. If we could get the ATL 1st and maybe a 2nd in 2027 that would give us some ammo to rebuild OL and draft young QBs in next 2 drafts. This won't happen and hopefully CJ regains his mojo next year.
Unfortunately, I don't see anything "splashy" with any FA this year, that doesn't seem to be Nick`s style outside of the Diggs trade and I wasn't crazy about voiding years on his contract when we signed him. I hope I am 100% wrong because you can't build through the draft 100% of the time, you need a good FA, but dam it I want ONE OL STUD and then sign a few OL who can come in and start...................if were going to have this vanilla crappy offense then at least get some guys who can perform at an elite level...............we keep trying to replicate NE offense but we dont have TB12 nor the line he had , hell we don't even have a GRONK, your trying to paint the Mona Lisa with crayons
1) I don't think enough is said about what a colossal blunder that was. You acquire a player for a 2nd round pick and then give away having that player under contract for several more years at would be a reasonable price for top tier WR because....??? 2) I quoted the 2nd part for just your sheer use of vivid & comical imagery. TY for that
