This is true, but Shaq and Kobe were on the Lakers for three years before Phil Jackson got there and they did nothing before them. In fact, the Laker team was more talented before Phil Jackson got to the team. They had Shaq (All-Star), Kobe (All-Star), Eddie Jones (All-Star), Nick Van Exel (All-Star), Elden Campbell (who was actually okay back then), Rick Fox, Robert Horry, and Derek Fisher. This is an amazing roster and they kept getting their asses kicked by the Jazz. Only when PJ showed up did that change.

you know I have to admit JVG is pretty overrated..

he is a great X's and O's coach but not much of a motivater. I know these are professional athelete's but everyone needs someone to push them to play at a high level.

it seems like this team is starting to tune him out.. at least its looking that way.

if thats the case the XO dont mean anything if the players wont execute.

First of all, you can't listen online.

Second, calling a coach overrated when he just got here and you NEVER paid attention to what he did BEFORE he arrived is corny as hell! People who know basketball better than anyone on this board think Gundy is an excellent, excellent coach. Even Phil Jackson (who you all hated and now love him so much as the replacement) said it in a previous interview that was by these same hosts.

But whatever. When he does win, nobody will give him credit. It will got to the players. And if he doesn't win, it wasn't the player, but the coach. Thats always the case anyways.

The interview is delayed a bit because of practice. It should be on soon.

Have you ever heard a coach say that another coach sucked balls? Larry Brown is the only one I can think of, and he lost the next 3 games to that coach in the playoffs.

People do pay attention to what he did before he came here. I guess his past has a lot to do with why some people don't think he's the right fit. I dont' think he is the right coach for Rox. I don't hate him. I just dont' like his coaching style. Never liked it, and never will.

You're thinking with your a-hole again. Look at JVG's winning percentage as a coach in his lifetime.

Online you can listen to it. Sorry. Wrong words.

    You can't listen live.

They are still waiting for him. But its good that they are talking about the Rockets in NYC.

See our hustle and defensive intensity the year before JVG took control. Then compare that with the FIRST year JVG took over last yr. He pushed Stevie to play defense for the first time in his career. Sure he can't motivate.

Do you know what his lineup was during his years in New York.

    Ewing
    Larry Johnson
    Allan Houston
    Sprewell
    Smith
    Childs
    In his prime Charlie Ward.

The new york team was stacked the whole time he was there except for the year he quit on them. And even with that lineup, he still couldn't produce a good offense.

I recall his offense being decent and efficient. The fact that they didn't score big doesn't mean it wasn't a good offense...JVG's teams will nver score big because of the slow-down, halfcourt, pace-killing system designed around defense. But with more talent (except LJ..he was trash after Charlotte), JVG was producing a decent offense. Oh and Charles Smith was trash by the time JVG took over...and Ewing was aging quickly.

He had Sprewell and Houston with a decent Ewing and some role players. But much better role players than we have.

Gundy hater right here! Front and Center!

    Was this a roll call?

Lemme guess how this interview will go ...

Host : So, those yokels down in the sticks can't handle your tough NY style.

    Co-host : Yeah, we're tough, they're soft!

    All together : Woof!

Host : They've got to see things your way.

Co-host : If they don't win, it's just they're too soft. You showed them.

    JVG : I do what I do.

    All : Woof.
